The Central Region B&I team is focused on organic growth. For that purpose, we develop and maintain relationships with public officials, primarily at the State and Local level. The Regional Governmental Relations Manager (RGRM) will lead our teams to develop deep client relationships in this regard:

Develops, maintains, and advances client and governmental relationships through sales strategies and key contacts, resulting in new contracts and added value for our clients. Consistently advocates and adheres to sales process and procurement integrity guidelines. Responsible for development and management of political engagement plans, sales pursuits/relationships and presentation efforts with Buildings and Infrastructure clients in the Central Region which includes the Texas, Missouri, Illinois, Louisiana and Oklahoma markets.

He/she will be a seasoned, mature and self-confident leader who can bring credibility and confidence to the organization and instill a client focused, value added service orientation into every engagement.

• Partners with Regional Operations and Sales Management to identify and drive key political relationships as well as new developments within multiple markets. Proposes growth-related initiatives and strategies.

• Develops plan for political and community engagement with an initial focus on Texas and the Central Region. Assures plan aligns with business plan and growth opportunities.

Develops and maintains relationships with public officials, clients, operations, and sales team; cultivates new relationships with the discipline to follow through and drive effective key client/political engagement plans.

• Demonstrates the confidence, business acumen, negotiations, interpersonal and communications skills required to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and political figures. Represents Jacobs in critical business dealings, relationships, and negotiations with business partners.

• Demonstrates leadership skills in using creative project, people management and development skills, together with financial and business insight, to effectively develop project strategies and build relationships across a broad range of markets and size.

• Works with Sales in the development of sales strategies, win plans, and go/no-go decisions, working closely with sales and operations throughout sales process.

• Shows an external focus with engagement in the community as well as the industry including attendance and involvement at industry events.

• Tracks and shares client/political relationship developments with sales team through call reports and sales database entries.

• Maintains and enforces client confidentiality, procurement integrity, gatekeeper approval, and company Identity Program compliance.

• Initially Assists with Corporate integration into the Texas market. This will include integrating Corporate leadership into political activities, community engagement and corporate branding in Texas market.

Where applicable, engages with political consultants, assists in their hiring and supervises their contract and activities.

Mentors staff in regard to political relationships across the region.

• Position will involve some travel and be based out of our Dallas or Austin office.
• 10 years minimum experience in working with political organizations and dealing with the general public regarding public sector projects.

• 5 year minimum experience working with the Buildings and Infrastructure industries.

• 1 year experience personally engaging on key pursuits including development of strategy.

• Experience working with multiple business lines and client types, public & private sector, ideally within both the buildings and infrastructure industry.

• Geographic diversity working with clients in multiple states, regions, or nationally is required

• Strong business acumen coupled with effective communication skills.

• Candidate must possess a passion for program leadership coupled with innate ability to influence the decision making process with ultimate goal to lead sales effort.

• Candidate must be a good strategic thinker who drives innovative solutions.

• Must have experience managing a diverse team across industries with varying complexity of projects and clients.

• Candidate must be an active, proven professional with demonstrated ability to close and have recent experience in the Central Region market with a proven track record of developing political relationships across the Texas market.
