Position Summary

The Scheduler, in coordination with Project Managers, develops project schedule and cost forecast plans with functional department input, attends Project and Job Kickoff and walk down meetings, and creates, maintains and updates schedules. Responsible for developing, maintaining and controlling project schedule plans using appropriate software (e.g. SAP Project System, SAP Work Management System, MS Project, Primavera P6).


• BA/BS in Computer Science, Business, or equivalent experience
• Certified Scheduling Technician (CST) or should be able to be a CST within 6 months of hire
• Minimum 6 years of applicable experience
•3 years experience in scheduling, telecommunications, gas, or electric
•Must be able to clearly communicate to other team members and client personnel
• Strong attention to details
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to travel as dictated by project requirements

• Associates Degree or equivalent experience
• Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP)
• Earned Value Professional (EVP) or equivalent
Competencies Desired:
• Demonstrated experience scheduling the design and construction of large-scale, complex projects; including developing and managing a progress reporting methodology for a complicated design effort. Telecommunication and Pipeline/Utility experience highly preferred.
• Experience with Design-Build and Construction Management. Demonstrated ability to understand a demanding, technical and complicated construction program; and the ability to communicate progress and issues to a technical- and management-level audience
• Demonstrated experience with Primavera Project Planner Version 6.0 or higher is required
• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Project 2010 and higher is required
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required
• Experience with Adobe Acrobat is required
• Ability to work with others, a self-starter with results-driven focus.

• Develop and maintain detailed Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) schedules for utility projects (IT, Gas, and Electric). These schedules may incorporate several scenarios used to finalize various aspects of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction sequencing and contracting plans
• Develop and analyze man-hour resources, equipment resources and cost loaded, time-phased schedules.
• Prepare detailed plans and time scaled charts and diagrams
• Monitor project progress against an established baseline; perform Earned Value Management (EVM) to assess schedule and cost performance throughout the lifecycle of the project.
• Provide impact analysis of schedule changes, identify schedule variances and opportunities and proactively develop mitigation strategies for the Project Management team.
• Develops and maintains an integrated master schedule of all IT supported projects from all Lines of Business.
• Maintain simplified logic schedules to highlight status of key interfaces for critical path review.
• Review third-party design and/or construction schedules and provide written comments. Participate with third-party schedulers to address the comments.
• Provide progress reporting documents and briefing materials as required. Develop creative reporting tools to communicate complex project sequencing and/or progress assessments. Responsible for promptly reporting schedule slippage or other variances.
