The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

Will assist with the development, maintenance and troubleshooting as required to support the test center and its efforts to become ISO certified. Participate in ISO management team meetings and weekly status meetings, as well as requirement meeting gatherings. Document software and workflow requirements, creates design documentation, test plans, develop the software, execute test plans, document and fix bugs and deploy software.

Perform coding, testing, installing and maintaining of engineering computer programs having features including multiplicity of functions, critical constraints, and elaborate input/output. Prepare project resource estimates schedules and cost analysis. Provide diagnostic support to correct processing anomalies and assist in training of less experienced personnel.

Work Environment

Generally an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task. An inside environment may be a cubicle (considerations: close quarters, low to moderate noise, bright or dim lighting). Outside work may include various environmental conditions including warm and cold climates. Needs to be able to work well with co-workers and all levels of management. No hazards on job or unusual environmental conditions. Office is located on site in Government spaces at: Dugway Proving Ground, UT.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require filing, typing, and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, included but not limited to: bending, reaching, turning and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distances may be required. Work will require incumbent to work with hazardous industrial chemicals as well as various chemical warfare agents. Incumbent must be able to wear standard industrial respirators and/or M-40 Mask for protection from industrial chemicals/chemical warfare agents for extended periods of time. In addition, the incumbent may be required to stand for extended periods while performing routine laboratory work.

Equipment and Machines

Ability to operate office equipment such as a personal computer, printer, copy machine, telephone, fax machine and other equipment including desk supplies and other work related tools as required.


Regular hours will be between Monday-Thursday 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Regular attendance of scheduled hours is extremely important, but not critical, except for deadlines and meetings. Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary to meet deadlines. Must exhibit flexibility of work hours to adjust to surge situations based on critical mission requirements.

Other Essential Functions

Must demonstrate professional behavior at all times when dealing with customers, management and co-workers. Must have clear, concise and accurate communications skills in English, both verbal and written. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk to employees or others. Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner. Independent personal transportation to office or work site is required. Travel to and from customer's locations and the test fields may be required to support projects. This may involve airline travel. In some cases, accommodations can possibly be made for POV, if necessary. When operating any vehicle for work purposes, must wear seat belt and in addition, no cellular devices are to be used when vehicle is in motion.


Baccalaureate in computer science and four (4) to five (5) years of recent experience in programming, of which one year shall be in scientific programming. Must be proficient with Fortran and "C" languages. Must be experienced in preparing concepts and designs and developing computer programs, modifying existing programs, and preparing software documentation, user manuals and reports.

The following certifications are preferred:

GSEC, Security+CE. SSCP and CCNA-Security

Your ability to obtain and maintain the US Government security clearance or a favorable National Agency Check Inquiry (NACI) is necessary to perform the tasks of the position for which you are being employed, as well as any subsequent positions to which you may be assigned. If you do not currently have the appropriate security clearance of NACI, you will have ten (10) days to obtain an interim security clearance or a favorable NACI. Failure to receive an interim clearance within ten (10) days of the submission of your eQIP questionnaire to DSS will render this offer null and void, additionally, failure to obtain and maintain a final security clearance or NACI will result in the termination of your employment.
