Wind Turbine Blade Specialist
This specialist consultancy with a pedigree in Risk Management and Due Diligence for the UK and Europe are growing from strength to strength with their reputation and capabilities to exceed their clients needs.
With offices in Edinburgh and London they have the footprint to service the UK market as well as managing to developing presence in the European Renewable Energy sector.
As a result of growth due to the ongoing success they have had with their client base in Germany, they are currently looking to recruit a specialist Engineer who is a subject matter expert on Wind Turbine blades to continue to support their customers who range from Wind Turbine Owners, Investors and Developers.
Reporting to the MD of the company you will support onshore and offshore wind projects with maintenance planning and execution, reviewing damage to blades and assisting with insurance claims/legal cases. Due to their client’s location you will need to be fluent in German and have previous experience working in the Renewables market either in Scandinavia or Germany.
You will be working alongside Wind Turbine manufacturers to understand their manufacturing standards and to understand minimization of risk to the blades during transportation, installation and operation. Understanding the lifecycle of the Wind turbine blade will be essential as you will need to liaise with stakeholders to numerous offshore wind farm projects who have placed significant capital in the projects
To be successful in this role you will need to be degree qualified wit a relevant engineering degree and a post graduate degree in a topic such as Aerodynamics, Mechanical, Structural, Civil….
You will ideally have had detailed exposure to the turbine blade manufacturing market and have had previous experience in the use of composite materials. You will have also had experience of the design of the blades and have an understanding or reliability engineering standards and process for the manufacturing of turbine blades.
You will have had previous experience working on an offshore wind farm and be familiar with carrying out offshore inspections for potential operational damage to the blades. Due to the amount of time the candidate will be in Germany, any location in the UK is considered or a suitable location in Germany/Scandinavia.
