The Services Quality Field Inspector position will be responsible for documenting and investigating Quality issues within the Services US Business Unit. Act as a focal point in Quality for the services organization at the site level (including O&M, Sales, Engineering, etc.). Support Supplier Quality Assurance in providing field feedback. Utilize excellent communication skills for building relationships and acting as the voice of the customer in the Gamesa organization. This is a travel position, most time will be spent at various wind farms in the US and Canada. One position will be based on the East Coast, one on the Midwest and one on the West.

Main Functions

  • Carry out detailed inspections of wind turbines according to an established check list. Report those inspections in a timely manner
  • Perform in-process audits of maintenance crews, 3 rd party vendors, large corrective crews and other teams as assigned
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis teams to determine corrective actions to assigned non-conformities and follow up on action effectiveness.
  • Assist in 3 rd party vendor qualification and performance evaluation
  • Report non-conforming activities or parts to management
  • Review documentation, submit changes & improvements, and maintain inspection records
  • Provide direction and influence the development, implementation and maintenance of Gamesa Business Excellence initiatives in compliance with applicable industry standards (i.e. ISO/OSHAS) and in accordance with Gamesa Corporate guidelines in the Services department
  • Support Service Engineering in field investigations
  • Interface with wind farm management including customer representatives in regards to work plans and document submission
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Vocational Technical School in Engineering - Technical Studies

Other Knowledge

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as sefety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to define problems, collect data and establish facts
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form
  • Ability to climb wind turbine towers up to 330' multiple times per day
  • Ability to travel for extended period of time
