Job Overview:

CB&I is presently seeking an experienced Environmental Supervisor to join our team on the Humboldt Bay Power Plant Decommissioning Project in Eureka, CA.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
  • Supervise a team of union operators and laborers to manage all Best Management Practices (BMP) implementation, inspection and maintenance to comply with the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP)
  • Ensure availability of all SWPPP and plumbing materials to support the different projects on site
  • Responsible for compliance documents which included weekly (Wood Bin, Drain Inlet, Sweeper Logs) and monthly (Spill Kit, Spill Prevention Control & Countermeasures and Hazardous Materials Business Plan) inspections and updates
  • Address BMP deficiencies noted by SWPPP Qualified Stormwater Practitioners
  • Conduct daily tailboards and assigned duties to a team of up to 6 operators and laborers
  • Implement spill response actions
  • Provide support to Operations in water transfers, materials support and operating the Ground Water Treatment System as needed
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Area Supervisors, Safety, Oversight, Operations, and other Environmental staff as needed
Basic Qualifications:
  • BS/BA Science related discipline, i.e. Engineering, Geology, Biology, etc.
  • Fluent English language competency
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency with standard computer software programs, i.e. Microsoft Office
  • Physical dexterity
  • Strong mechanical skills
  • Understanding of California SWPPP regulations
  • Experience as supervisor or lead
  • Team player
  • Willing to perform shift-work including nights and weekends
  • Strong commitment to safety and environmental compliance

Desired/Preferred Qualifications:
  • 40 Hour HAZWOPER
  • California ATS Operator Certification
  • Experience supervising union personnel
  • Ability to mentor less experienced staff
