Job Overview:

CB&I have an on-call opening for Waste Segregation Technicians with a 24 or 40 hour HAZWOPER certification to perform waste audits for retail clients in Northern California.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
  • Field Technicians will work in teams of 2-3 to segregate non-hazardous and hazardous waste from 3YD-6YD dumpsters. Items to be sorted include dry goods (e.g. plastics, cardboards, paper) and construction materials (e.g. wire, cables, batteries, aerosol cans, miscellaneous electronic devices).
  • Will be responsible for identifying the potentially hazardous items, removing them from the general waste stream and placing items into hazardous waste drums located on site.
  • Teams will perform waste segregation services at approximately 6 sites per day over a 9 hour work day.
  • Field work will be physically demanding. All supplies to perform waste segregation work will be provided.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check
  • Must have 24 or 40 hour Hazwoper certification
  • Must be able to lift up to 60lbs.
  • Will perform work in adverse weather conditions on the field (Work in hot/cold environments, inclement weather)
  • Works on straightforward tasks using established procedures; work is subject to review by others.
  • Depends on others for instruction, guidance and direction
  • Steel Toe Boots Required
  • High School Diploma
  • Temporary On-Call position*
Desired/Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the Hazardous Waste/Solid Waste Field
  • 40 hour Hazwoper trained
