The Principal Engineer - Digital Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) will be responsible for driving technical leadership and process rigor for the engineering product development and strategic plan of Asset Performance Management as a Digital Solution with Power Services Multi-Year Service Agreements. This position will work closely with various stakeholders across the Power Gen business including Power Digital Sales and Product Line and the Multi-Year Agreement organization.

Essential Responsibilities

As the Principal Engineer - Digital Reliability Centered Maintenance, you will:
  • Provide leadership and technical direction to the Engineering team to meet specific objectives for Reliability Centered Maintenance for Asset Performance Management. Provide daily SME support to RAM outcome guarantees on multi-year agreements through Asset Performance Management.
  • Provide domain expertise at customer meetings led by Power Digital Sales.
  • Grow the organizational competency and capability in the RCM domain and
  • Work closely with the Data and Informatics team on deployment infrastructure and processes, and do develop dashboards to support Power Digital Sales.
  • Execute plans to achieve goals and effectively communicate results to internal and/or external customers.
  • Lead the continuous improvement of Reliability Centered Maintenance for Asset Performance Management.
  • Help structure the Multi-Generational Program Plan for the engineering development of RCM
  • Oversee development of Approval to Apply (ATA) documentation to be used in Multi-Year Service Agreement offerings / customer outcomes
  • Be a champion of Reliability Centered Maintenance outside of the team.
  • Coach and Mentor junior engineers in industry/product knowledge and the reliability discipline
  • This role may require occasional travel to customer HQ and/or power plant sites.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials, or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience in turbomachinery, design, analytics, or power plant domain
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the reliability engineering or Reliability Centered Maintenance domain

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Desired Characteristics

  • Master's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • GE Analytics Program Certification (GE Employees Only)
  • Green Belt Certified or equivalent quality certification
  • Deep experience in power plant reliability, event reporting, and plant maintenance philosophies.
  • Leadership experience in Reliability Engineering
  • Self-starter able to develop, document, and execute engineering assignments with limited supervision
  • Experience in power plant operations and maintenance.
  • Experience working in a cross functional organization (i.e. systems, controls, performance)
  • Ability to mentor less experienced engineers both locally and across a global team environment
  • Ability to rapidly adjust to changes in directions on multiple concurrent projects based on emergent business priorities
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Strong communication skills, oral and written
  • Understands business objectives and enables the team to achieve those objectives
