The Simulator Upgrades Department is responsible for a set of standard software products that are deployed on nuclear power plant training simulators. The hiring group is also responsible for a number of projects that involves simulator upgrades that typically make use of applying the standard products. The successful candidate will be asked to perform functions in both roles.
In this position, a Simulation Engineer can expect to be responsible for the following:

- Perform engineering design, evaluations, and analyses of technical products and services within the specified discipline for this position.
- Software development and lifecycle processes including requirements management, system design, software implementation, and testing.
- Project work and standard product work.

Job Requirements
The successful candidate for this position will possess the following:
  • Engineering (Computer, Electrical, Mechanical) or Computer Science degree, or similar, ability for follow direction
  • Strong software background in at least one of the following high level languages: Java, C, C++. Fortran experience a plus
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Developer's Studio software development environment
  • Understanding of software design cycle (requirements, design, implementation, testing, documentation) and software configuration management principles
  • Knowledge of Instrumentation and Control concepts a plus
  • Some travel may be needed
