We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Network Engineer WAN in our New Nuclear Construction business line.
Job Overview:
The Senior Network Engineer will assist with network related operations and maintenance, WAN design, router/switch configuration, WAN troubleshooting, and 24x7 support functions.  This individual will be tasked with the support, implementation, and identification of resource requirements for network systems (including wireless) of moderate complexity.  They will also be responsible for network planning, administration, and engineering.  Day to day responsibilities also include integrating and schematically depicting communication architecture, hardware, software, transmission, and signaling links and protocols into complete network configurations.  The Configuration and operation of small/mid-size network related projects will be necessary from time to time.  The Network Engineer will also be asked to evaluate new products, perform network problem resolution, and assists in the development and documentation of technical standards and interface applications.  The ability to monitor protocol compatibility, perform system tuning, and implement on recommendations for improvement is also a must.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
  • Monitor Westinghouse network systems with a focus on WAN - routers and WAN optimizers
  • Immediately respond to incidents and performance issues, set priorities as required
  • Schedule and perform WAN updates and configuration changes following change management procedures as well as interact with WAN circuit providers
  • Provide 2nd level support, complex troubleshooting, interaction with network architects and security operations teams, and maintain/enforce WAN standards
  • Develops solutions requiring analysis and research. Responsible for critical work and/or complex projects performed within a broader technical and business context
  • Creation of Daily Health reports, always Know the State of the Network
  • Read reports, review trends, receive calls and resolve tickets. 
  • Experience managing networking projects from design to completion
  • Proficiency in WAN connectivity technologies
  • Proficiency in routing and switching protocols
  • Experience with network monitoring tools
  • Experience working in a large data center environment
  • On-call rotation duties
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
  • Good communication skills and work ethic

Job Requirements
Desired/Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Information & Technologies or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum Cisco CCNA or 4+ years networking experience
  • Experience with Nexus Data Center switches
  • Experience with Wireless technologies
  • Experience with 802.1x
  • Experience with Aruba wireless and CPPM a plus
  • Experience with Solarwinds monitoring suite a plus
  • Experience with Cisco Call Manager and Unity Experience a plus
  • Fax experience a plus
