The Sr. Competitor & Customer Insights Mangar will drive business insights in the area of competitors, customers & the digital sector. You will work cross-functionally with P&L's and regions providing insights into market dynamics, adjacencies & disruptors enabling GE Power see around corners, positioning us as an industry leader

Essential Responsibilities

As the Sr. Competitor & Customer Insights Manager, you will be responsible for close engagement with P&L's to develop & deploy best practices, with increasing focus in the digital sector. This role will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy, interacting frequently with senior leadership.

In addition, you will:
  • Provide insights with business implications and potential strategies using analytics and process development, contributing clear recommendations for long-term business planning and strategy
  • Candidate will own large, high impact, cross P&L global projects around strategy for growth as they relate to customer behavior, competitor strategy and digital enablement Deliver critical annual Strategic Roadmap insights such as profit pool analysis, customer trends, competitive threats, etc.
  • Improve marketing processes with expanded market intel capabilities across P&L's, regions, and digital sectors, developing new tools to keep GE Power Marketing skills at the forefront
  • Facilitate & coordinate strategy sessions around customer & competitive intel deliverables with P&L and regional teams
  • Support & drive "Time-to-Think" sessions expanding overall business insights in new spaces such as Digital, regional threats, etc.
  • Drive customer insights to create differentiated value to grow in a flat market
  • Deliver daily rapid market Intel, detailed customer and competitor analysis to senior leadership for all critical aspects of market insights.
  • Predict and mitigate future threats by working closely with P&L's and functions
  • Deliver competitor insights around existing competitors plus new & emerging threats especially in the digital sector
  • Execute in depth competitive analysis, deep-dives and war games to develop new business strategies; examples include China country analysis, new digital customer engagement and emerging technologies
  • Identify growth areas for acquired technologies
  • Support broader GE Power strategic marketing efforts & analytics, as well as P&L marketing teams and other Tier 1 businesses when appropriate


  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) or Marketing
  • Minimum of 5 years sales or marketing experience within energy industry
