The Midwest Business Development Manager will be responsible to deliver new business growth of services for South US region.

Essential Responsibilities

As the Midwest Business Development Manager, you will:
  • Manage and develop existing / new accounts / customer relationships at site and region levels
  • Grow transactional sales for GE and non-GE Renewable Services within an assigned regional customer base by identifying and securing short cycle convertible sales that improve site operational metrics
  • Provide commercial support to our contract customer's site management providing insight to new service offerings designed to improve the wind farm operational performance
  • Be a catalyst to introduce GE Service initiatives / CM&U's to non-contract customer base (self-performers & third party service providers) to meet regional sales targets
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key customer operations / decision maker at various Wind Sites and headquarters
  • Work closely with the GE Service Directors, Site Managers, Fulfillment Managers, Sales peers to identify opportunities to optimize turbine performance and meet clients operational and financial performance metrics, thus increasing customer satisfaction
  • Provide commercial support to the GE Wind Services operations / site teams and to develop all targeted proposal development that drive profitable growth across region revenue streams
  • Educate site teams on new product and service offerings geared to upgrade performance of existing GE Wind turbines
  • Coordinate quarterly site operational reviews with client to ensure customer satisfaction; while providing feedback to the services team for continuous improvement
  • Develop Account Planning / strategies for assigned customer base, including order forecasts of multiple GE streams (CM&U / Parts / Services, Balance of Plant, Asset Management, Catalog Conversions Modifications and Upgrades)
  • Lead and participate in global & region operating reviews to drive improved sales performance and market penetration learnings
  • Develop channel and potential partner (ISP) in the market to enlarge the customer base and market penetration


  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 5 years of services or service sales experience in the power generation industry

  • Ability and willingness to travel 50% of the time to support Wind production sites in a designated territory

  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications

    Desired Characteristics

  • Services background with power generation Industry experience
  • Knowledge of Wind Product line, operations, or other wind specific technical experience
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma principals (Greenbelt or Black Belt Quality certifications)or equivalent quality certification
  • Also Sales / Marketing, Project Management, and multi-segment power equipment experience is desired
  • Ability to interface with customer's site management and effectively present GE's value proposition
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills along with analytical / problem solving
