Department Overview

The Information Technology (IT) organization is structured to support PG&E's core function of providing reliable gas and electric transmission and distribution services that will result in delighted customers, energized employees, rewarded shareholders and environmental leadership. IT functions are to design, develop, operate and maintain the information and telecommunications systems that enable the Company to meet its commitment to customers: Keeping the Lights on and the Gas Flowing, Delivering at a Reasonable Price, and Providing Simple and Convenient Options.

Position Summary

Technology Planning and Architecture (TP&A) practice is a centralized architecture group. The group supports PG&E's affordability and reliability goals under the architecture mandate of Reuse, Rationalize and Enterprise. The Solution Architecture practice delivers the technical architecture leadership to ensure implementation of quality solutions. With the efforts of our dedicated people, and a commitment to teamwork and continuous communication, the TP&A group is able to offer and continuously improve on the following core services:
• Delivery high quality solutions
• Enable Architecture Build Process
• Develop Technology Standards
• Assure Reliable and Reusable Assets
• Explore, Prototype, and Validate


Minimum Qualifications:
1. BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Eng. or a related subject
2. Full stack experience
3. 10+ years of software development and delivery experience
4. Minimum 5 years of experience working as an Agile/Technical Lead/Architect in an Agile environment
5. Clear understanding of Apple's design principles and interface guidelines
6. Deep and thorough understanding of Architecture domains and practices within a large enterprise.
7. Has worked as Solutions engineer for several years delivering with consistent quality and customer satisfaction. Mature delivery capability.
8. Effective communication and inter-personal skills including negotiation skills and can drive the point across.
9. Good knowledge of Architecture models and frameworks such as TOGAF and Zachman and their application within the organization.
10. Demonstrated technical leadership.
11. Mobile Technologies:
a. Have a fundamental and working knowledge of xCode, Swift, Objective C in IOS development environment.
b. Good knowledge of working in a MAC OS-X environment.
c. Good knowledge of Node.js, NGINX or equivalent and Mongo DB or other NoSQL databases.
d. Working knowledge of server side JavaScript frameworks. e. Good knowledge of Linux in a VM and Cloud environment.
f. Experience with MDM & MAM solutions. Mobile Iron experience preferred.
g. Experience with GIS is a plus
h. Knowledge of SAP and/or ESRI a plus
12. Practical experience working in an Agile and Scrum oriented methodology
13. Effective Software development and engineering skills including application of best practices.
14. Experienced in use of code quality and other quality measurement tools.
15. Experience working in star-up environment or organizations with an agile culture
16. Excellent communication and collaboration skills and a strong work ethic
17. Very strong analytical and problem solving skills
18. Able to build strong relationships with and influence at the Director level of leadership and higher

Desired Qualifications
• MA/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related field
• Understanding of the Utility Industry and how technology is used within business processes
• Architecture Certification (TOGAF, Zachman, DODAF, etc), Security
• Certification (CISSP, etc), IT Delivery Certification (ITILv3, etc)
• Good planning and organizational skills; detail and process-oriented; able to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

1. Work in the Solutions Architecture team within the Technology & Architecture Planning Group, with responsibilities for delivery to clients including the Mobile center of excellence and lines of business as needed. 2. Provide alignment with the work being performed within the client teams and the architecture organization.
3. Work on the Architecture and Solution Continuum.
4. Develop thorough understanding of the PG&E's enterprise and business architecture, the infrastructure, applications and systems that have impact on mobile.
5. Create, enhance and maintain Solutions Blueprints, Solutions Architectures, and other artifacts within the SA stream for projects. Align solutions with existing reference architectures and contribute to enhancing them.
6. Co-ordinate and align with the Technical and Domain Solutions architects within the centralized architecture organization covering areas such as Security, Network, Integration, End User technologies, Analytics and ECM among others.
7. Develop and maintain relationship and coordination with Business Architects and Vanguard (Emerging technologies) teams.
8. Create and conduct Gate reviews for projects covering architecture alignment, code reviews, design reviews etc.
9. Provide technology guidance and leadership to clients/stakeholders.
10. Stay up to date with developments and technology in the Mobile, Cloud and other segments of the industry.
11. Ability to thrive in a fast moving, Agile environment. Work environment is on site, face to face, in a collaborative style of engagement.
