Department Overview

The men and women of Electric Operations ensure the delivery of safe and reliable electric service to our customers. Electric Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG&E's electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, asset management, business planning, restoration and emergency response.

Position Summary

Conducts field assessments on PG&E's electric distribution facilities.
Verifies the quality of constructions and ensures all standards and
regulations are met.


Minimum Qualifications
High school or GED.

5 years of total relevant experience such as electric construction field

*California Driver's License. *Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW).

Ability to travel 75% of the time within assigned division(s).

Desired Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field.

*Current or previous PG&E experience as a Compliance Inspector,
Journey Lineman, Field Engineer Technician, M&C Coordinator, Quality
*Experience in compliance inspection, distribution maintenance &
construction, quality assurance or quality control auditing.
*Experience in conducting root cause investigations

*ASQ Certified Quality Auditor or equivalent
*ASQ Certified Quality Improvement Specialist

*Broad knowledge of General Orders 165, 95 and 128.
*Thorough knowledge of the Electric Distribution Preventive
Maintenance Program
*Thorough knowledge of the requirements of the OH and UG
Construction Manual.
*Data analysis and reporting skills.
*Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
*Teamwork and collaboration skills.
*Knowledge of root cause investigation methods and techniques.
*Good communication skills.
*Attention to detail and organizational skills.


*Works independently on a wide range of straightforward to complex
audits & assessments. Conducts work verification reviews to measure
adherence to and accountability for the inspections as required by GO
165, the repair and construction of electric distribution facilities as
required by GO 95 and 128 order closure. Monitors consistency in
construction standards.
*Builds, maintains and manages a schedule of work verifications to
conduct within the assigned division(s).
*Conducts and oversees the preparation and communication of detailed reports. Presents to leaders with summaries, conclusions and
*Identifies, documents and shares best practices and lessons
learned from field assessments. Collaborates with, provides guidance
and addresses questions from PS&R supervisors, M&C construction
supervisors, Electric Foremen, Estimating, QA specialists and EC program
managers, providing just-in-time feedback, sharing best practices,
findings and corrective actions.
*Validates quality of inspections and patrols for OH and UG assets
completed by compliance inspectors. Validates minor work performance
completed by compliance inspectors.
*Validates quality of EC notifications and construction work
completed by construction crews by reviewing recently constructed EC and
Critical Operating Equipment (COE) jobs.
*Assesses quality of PS&R and Construction supervisor completed
work verifications.
*Assesses quality of work completed compared to job estimates that includes review of supporting documentation and proper order closure.
*Performs additional audit, quality control and/or validation
activities to support compliance with GO 165, 95 and 128 or to support
other regulatory audit requirements such as order closure verifications.
*Understands demonstrates and adheres to all company and
regulatory safety practices and requirements.
