Offshore Coordinator for UK West coordination of our offshore wind park cluster Looking for new challenges?
Join us and become an Offshore Coordinator monitoring offshore operations for the wind farms off the coast of Barrow-in-Furness. You will be responsible for coordinating offshore planning and logistics operations, including access to wind turbine generators and offshore substations. Moreover, you will control our Windfarm Manager software, vessel and helicopter traffic, vessel and helicopter crews as well as vessel and helicopter passengers required for daily marine operations from the onshore base.
Offshore Coordination is part of Wind Power which has 1800 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. DONG Energy is the world's largest developer and operator of offshore wind power, and we use our unique knowledge in all phases of our wind turbine projects. During the last 20 years, we have developed and constructed the largest portfolio of offshore wind farms in Northern Europe.
You will be based at our offices in Barrow-in-Furness. However, you should expect occasional travel to other DONG Energy sites in the UK and potentially further afield. As we operate 7 days per week, 365 days per year, you will join a shift rota in an extremely dynamic working environment.
Your key tasks will be to
  • ensure site maintenance activities are effectively planned, coordinated and scheduled between parties
  • ensure passenger and material transfers are planned and executed in accordance with safe working practices and procedures, perform site inductions and coordinate and plan HSE audits
  • coordinate efficient transfers for effective 'time in turbine', liaising closely with the sites Deputy Operations Manager
  • assist in the preparation of marine coordination procedures and ensure they are implemented
  • manage personnel tracking and liaise with our vessel coordination system, issue notices to mariners and manage interface with crew boats
  • act as first point of contact in emergency response situations
  • assist site management in relation to daily issues as well as weekly and monthly reporting.
    Moreover, you will maintain records of vessel and helicopter movements as well as passenger movements and the suitability of vessels and helicopters, PPE, and training levels required for offshore work activities. In addition, you will in time act as Operational Controller for the wind turbine safety rules (WTSR).
    Your qualifications and core competences include that you
  • are educated to GCSE level with an A* to C grade in mathematics and science or equivalent
  • have experience of working either in a marine coordinator role or as a planner/scheduler
  • can display knowledge of marine coordination
  • speak and write English fluently
  • have a good standard of IT skills, particularly in the Microsoft Office suite
  • thrive in an international environment and are able to create good relationships with stakeholders.
You have a proactive and engaging personality, enabling you to foresee possible clashes in offshore activities and subsequently, if necessary, suggest and coordinate alternative solutions. Moreover, you are able to retain an effective overview in a multi-task environment. It will be an advantage if you have any experience in working in an offshore environment.
