The architect will drive technical analysis, design, issue remediation, and engagement on the GE Power landscape. The architect will be responsible for aligning with the core architecture team ensuring all security, scalability, performance, design, development, and deployment methodologies are followed while providing technical solutions for the GE Power businesses

Essential Responsibilities

As the SalesForce Architect Leader you will:
  • Work with the GE Power commercial architect team, scrum teams, product owners and various business teams to execute on ITO (inquiry to order) business and technical requirements
  • Work and partner with other resources to create, complete, and achieve sign-off on design & build activities within an agile development model
  • Provide expertise with including strong knowledge of administration, development, governor limits to provide supportable, scalable, and high performing solutions
  • Provide technical design expertise and create all relevant documentation to illustrate all major components of each solution and their interdependencies
  • Ability to perform many tasks during the creation of a solution including project management, technical architecture, physical design, technology strategy, managing contractors, and budgets
  • Reduce customizations where possible and any non-standard application processes; ensure maximum re-use of code and processes
  • Qualify new technologies and software products prior to introduce them to GE Power Commercial teams
  • Maintain and apply current knowledge of information technology; continually keeping abreast of new and emerging technologies to help determine if/how they can be used to add value to the business.
  • Ensure that the technology, solution and process are compliant with the enterprise architecture standards and guidelines
  • Proactively seek application and solution best practices within GE and the industry to gain a deeper knowledge of corporate preferred tools
  • Develop peer, cross-functional & cross-GE business relationships to maximize best practice sharing and solution delivery
  • Take ownership of development; lead and support team to develop solutions to meet business requirements ensuring solutions conform to system blueprint and defined standard development practices
  • Manage daily design & build activities, issue resolution, and communication across various agile teams and PMO.
  • Identify, analyze, and prioritize technical projects risks & impacts while providing alternatives to remove any roadblocks
  • Conduct successful unit testing on all development and configuration items associated with the platform
  • Work with the software providers to understand technical architecture design, scalability, performance consideration, and deployment approaches including a defined pathway for future upgrades
  • Managing scope, resources, timeline and risk to delivering on-time and high-quality projects


  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering or other related discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience working with enterprise or application architecture including cloud technologies, web application design, and database design.
  • Minimum of 4 or more successful large scale software implementations with multiple lines of business.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong technical foundation understanding and designing relational database concepts and structures, knowledge of SQL, system analysis and design methods
  • Experience with FastWorks, Agile, or Extreme Programming development methodologies to manage architectural design and fast cycled deployments
  • Proven ability to deliver in a global team environment with members working remotely in various time zones
  • Strong experience working with Web Services with WebMethods and Informatica or similar middleware solutions
  • Experience using ANT, Eclipse, and GIT (or similar Integrated Development Environment or Source Code Management tools)
  • Experience with on Single Sign On (SAML, IDP, SP)
  • Strong expertise with application development & architecture including: HTML, Java, JavaScript, JSON and other modern development standards
  • Organized and self-motivated with an ability to prioritize and manage demanding workload
  • Excellent analytical and technical skills
  • Ability to innovate and adapt based on team needs and new technologies
  • Strong desire and track record of understanding current and emerging technologies
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Ability to influence and gain commitment at all organizational levels
  • Strong functional / systems design experience with enterprise-level systems
  • The ability to balance the long-term ("big picture") and short-term implications of individual design decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical audiences
