The Cyber Security Architect will be responsible for architecting enterprise security solutions, developing and enforcing of security standards and guidelines, and other controls as need to protect GE Renewable Energy's critical business information. The successful candidate will possess broad technical skills with the ability to implement security changes across a large organization

Essential Responsibilities

In addition, the Cyber Security Architect, will:
  • Architect and design security controls and best of breed solutions for a wide variety of systems including data processing, storage, and collaboration systems, ERPs, PLMs, and other business applications
  • Liaise with Enterprise Architects to build and continuously update security controls to meet new threats
  • Efficiently translate project architecture / environment diagrams to formulate appropriate questions to identify security gaps in solution architectures
  • Research, pilot and drive the evaluation of new tools / technologies / processes to maintain and enhance the security of critical applications / software and data
  • Consult with the development and/or requirements teams to review required security controls
  • Conduct routine system audits as required
  • Ensure all tools, methodologies, technologies and programming frameworks and languages remain current
  • Ability to communicate with management, senior leaders, teams and technical personnel on a continuous basis
  • Ability to communicate experience and knowledge to provide direction and guidance to a broad base of development and architecture teams
  • Steps up when the need arises to work for and with the team or other business groups to accomplish what is necessary
  • Develops collaborative teams across the enterprise to innovate and create new solutions
  • Continually evaluate new threats, solutions and the impact on IT and Business operations and balancing these needs to develop and implement the best security solutions for the business


  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering (OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of technology industry experience)
  • Minimum of 4 years of IT experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of Information Security experience with a focus on secure architecture and design

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% as required

Desired Characteristics

  • Familiarity with DoE, NRC, NIST, DHS, & ISO 2700x security requirements
  • Understanding of risk management frameworks
  • Broad understand of technology in all areas and a detailed knowledge of major security platforms, applications or solutions available in the market
