The GPS (Gas Power Systems) MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) Solution Specialist will support the definition, development, and implementation of a Brilliant Factory MES solution in our Gas Power Systems manufacturing facilities.
This project is a key component of a much larger program to simplify the Gas Power Systems business and to modernize the software tools that lean the business processes, and enable the Digital Thread.

Essential Responsibilities

As the GPS MES Process Solution Specialist - you will lead and contribute to key project elements such as process analysis, business requirements, process redesign, documentation, data conversion, change management, project management, integration and training for a large / complex global Brilliant Factory program. This position will support the global process of Manufacturing Execution, which may include, but is not limited to: shop routings, serialization, mobile applications, CNC (Computer Numeric Control) integration, quality data collection, shop order management, labor management and production tracking. While concentrated within the factories, you will also need to work across multiple functional areas, including engineering, finance, sourcing, manufacturing, IT & logistics.

In addition, you will:
• Support the completion of all required implementation processes and tollgate steps including requirements gathering, process flow documentation, testing, data validation, training, post go-live support, and other project related activities
• Facilitate business common processes leveraging industry standard processes, minimizing or eliminating need for system customizations, to achieve reliable and repeatable operating results
• Identify and close gaps between desired standard business processes and existing, site-specific processes
• Influence cross-functional stakeholders to integrate business processes, standardize across fulfillment sites, and drive fast decision making to enable an accelerated ERP implementation schedule
• Work with the MES Fulfillment Process Manager to identify and deliver process simplification solutions that drive reductions in base cost, variable cost, lead time and inventory, including both short-term opportunities with immediate impact as well as long-term opportunities to be realized by way of a full MES-ERP implementation
• Build strong partnerships with cross functional team members (i.e. Finance, Information Technology, Engineering, Services & Global Supply Chain) to effectively deliver fully integrated solution that will support efficient, standard, accurate, compliant, and sustainable business processes
• Establish and foster relationships with a global team of professionals working across multiple geographies and time zones, within and outside Power Generation Services (PGS) and Gas Power Systems (GPS) to drive business and program success
• Drive the change acceleration process globally and act as a change agent for business process improvements
• Proactively assist the overall GPS ERP and MES team as needed during ramp up and deployment phases of the program
• Provide regular updates to the business leadership team on progress and escalate as necessary to remove issues
• Create a consistent communication rhythm on program status and operational improvements
• Proactively identify and mitigate risks
• Abide by all GE Corporate and local policies and procedures including but not limited to integrity, diversity, proprietary information, conflict of interest, Quality Management System (QMS) and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)


• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college
• Minimum 4 years professional work experience
• Ability and willingness to travel (up to 15%)

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

• Strong operational business process knowledge
• Knowledge of the GPS operational businesses processes and systems (i.e. Forecasting, Integrated Planning & Scheduling, Materials Management, Sourcing, Warehousing & Trade Compliance, Manufacturing Execution, Repairs, Parts Fulfillment, & Logistics) (GE Employees Only)
• Knowledge of Oracle, SAP, or other ERP applications with additional hands-on experience
• Knowledge of mobile solutions and technology, such as data acquisition and flow management simplification
• Knowledge in Manufacturing Execution System, routings, shop order management, and quality
• Demonstrated experience in driving change and experienced in CAP (Change Acceleration Process)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, team members, and subject matter experts
• Strong organization, planning, and leadership skills
• Ability to set own action plans and be proactive
• Able to use Six Sigma and Lean tools and techniques to drive change or equivalent quality tools and techniques
• Ability to think analytically and be an excellent problem solver
• Strong team player who works to make the entire team successful, not bound by strict role description
• Must be a dynamic leader with the ability to respond and pivot to changing priorities and business needs as necessary
