As a Control Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for creating control software and hardware systems as part of the overall electro-mechanical design of the Heavy Duty Gas Turbine package. This role creates the fundamental software and systems that run modern power plants reliably and efficiently.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Gather and document requirements for new or modified control system functionality
  • Work with partner engineering teams to determine and create the requirements when unclear.
  • Engineer system or software design to achieve requirements while considering cost, schedule and international standards compliance
  • Collaborate with multiple engineering teams to ensure integrated electro-mechanical design and proper functionality
  • Test and validate the functionality via virtual simulation environment, bench testing or full power plant testing.
  • Document work package and ensure proper handoffs to receiving engineering organizations
  • Work to continuously improve internal tools and process
  • Own and manage multiple projects at once
  • Assist in troubleshooting and RCA activities related to customer issues


  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 5 years of industrial controls experience
  • Ability and willingness to travel 15% to support controls verification

Desired Characteristics

  • 5 - 10 years experience in Power Generation Industry, Gas Turbine a plus
  • Demonstrated PLC logic creation with serial production mindset (not one-off)
  • Ability to conceptualize control solutions in a Matlab / Simulink environment
  • Ability to lead and influence multi- disciplinary engineering teams
  • Master's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Self - starter with positive attitude, ability to work individually and in teams
  • Demonstrated ability to meet goals and objectives
  • Working knowledge and experience with GE control system software, including Control System Toolbox and Cimplicity HMI
  • Comfortable working in a global environment
  • Proven oral and written communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to be challenged and learn new technologies and skills
  • Ability and willingness to multi-task efficiently and meet milestones
  • Passion for continuous learning and applying best practices to achieve practical solutions
  • Lead by example, set stretch goals and is committed to team building
  • Leadership experience and/or managing multiple projects simultaneously
