Jacobs is seeking to fill an ACES Material Handling & Data Manager position located in Ridgecrest, CA. This position provides the Adaptive Combat Environment Systems (ACES) organization a full spectrum of material handling and data management.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the following:
  • Scheduling of system operations and maintenance periods and requesting Tactical Combat Training System (TCTS) radio frequency radiation times on the China Lake Range in support of system open-air tests and maintenance activities.
  • Supporting local TCTS flight test activities, arranging for required assets and resources. Manages the ACES inventory of materials, and ensures shipments of project materials to and from the ACES facility to customer ranges and operational locations are accomplished in a timely manner.
  • Acting as an assistant facility security officer (FSO) and safety point of contact on-site at the ACES facilities.
  • Assisting with Tactical Air Range Integration Facility (TARIF) software product configuration management, assisting with the production, documentation, and production and distribution of software product baseline compact disks.

  • Receiving, inspecting, documenting, entering into inventory, and storing material items received at the ACES facilities.
  • Maintaining and managing ACES equipment and software (commercial and Government) inventories.
  • Generating and tracking listings of project equipment and software, documenting deliveries to TCTS and Air Force P5 Combat Training System (CTS) ranges and operational locations worldwide.
  • Distributing meeting agendas and minutes for workgroups such as the ACES Systems Engineering Group (SEG) workgroup and the Tactical Training Ranges (TTR) workgroup.
  • Maintaining TARIF software and project data libraries and manage modifications, additions, deletions, of library files on the TARIF library network.
  • Collecting, reporting, and providing analysis of metrics related to library statistics and usage.
  • Scheduling flight test assets and resources for TARIF and other departments at the Naval Warfare Assessment Center - Weapons Division (NAWCWD) China Lake, CA.
  • Coordinating, scheduling and support the conduct of in process readiness and mission readiness reviews.
Experience Requirements:
  • Must be able to prioritize well to handle multiple tasks.
  • Microsoft Office Suites, specifically Word, Power Point, and Excel.
  • Must be detail oriented and meticulous in the steps required to complete a task.
  • Must be capable of positively interacting with all types of individuals and levels of management on a daily basis.
  • Will work with supervisor to make decisions relative to the management of resources and the handling of ACES material to ensure organizational operations are maintained at an effective and efficient level.
  • Able to learn the knowledge of standard rules, procedures, tools and configuration/data management.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High School Diploma required along with 3 years of general work experience and 1 year of similar work experience required.
  • Associates Degree preferred.

US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED; Must be able to secure and obtain a US government secret security clearance.

Essential Functions

Work Environment:

Working at a computer or desk (Considerations: sitting, eyes, hands). May involve long periods of sitting or standing depending on current tasking.

Physical Requirements:

Sedentary - involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Exerts up 10 lbs. of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

Equipment and Machines:

Personal computer, scanner, copy machine, telephone, laser printer, fax machine, and other office equipment including desk supplies.

With the exception of STD/LTD/FMLA & approved time off, attendance is considered essential. Must be able to work within the shift hours of 0800 and 1700.

Other Essential Functions:
  1. Must be able to secure a security clearance.
  2. Must pass drug testing.
  3. Must be able to read and write effectively in English.
  4. Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner to get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management.

  5. Must perform work activities requiring interaction, negotiating, instructing, supervising, persuading or speaking with others.

  6. Travel requirements - Must be capable of traveling throughout the world.

  7. Must be able to work under supervision and respond appropriately and professionally to criticism from a supervisor.
