ENERCON Services Inc., doing business for the Federal Government through our wholly owned subsidiary, ENERCON Federal Services (EFS), provides engineering and environmental services to many branches of the Federal Government. With extensive experience in engineering design, nuclear safety, decommissioning and environmental services, we are actively supporting large and small projects throughout the DOE complex. EFS also has current experience supporting operations and decommissioning efforts at US Army Corps of Engineers and National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) facilities.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Photographer / Videographer to represent ENERCON, part-time, at a customer site in Los Alamos, NM. This position requires the individual to be local to Los Alamos and available part-time, on-call. Qualified candidates will have a journalism background with the ability to effectively use Photoshop to edit media.

Summary :
Researches, prepares, and produces digital imagery (still or videos) for both print and online/electronic publication for internal and external audiences. An experienced professional with a full understanding of specialized area plus working knowledge of related fields. Adept at solving a range of complex problems. Contributes to the development of organization&'s goals and objectives. Works under limited direction; receives general instructions on new assignments. Demonstrates good judgment. Determines approach to solutions, and plans and schedules activities to accomplish objectives. Must be receptive to coaching, education, and constructive criticism. Must learn to provide effective feedback to others, upward and downward.

Primary Duties Include:
• Prepares the product deliverable including story-boarding, script-writing, location scouting, lighting/staging and visual aid selection, shooting, music and sound effect selection, digital effect enhancements, final editing, and media duplication and/or database archiving.
• Uses multiple computer platforms and software to format and to produce and format communication products; troubleshoots problems that arise when moving files across platforms.
• Determines the tone, style, sequence, and format appropriate to effectively reach the audience and achieve client objectives.
• Ensures that communication products comply with Laboratory policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
• Stays current with industry practices and standards. Participates in critiques, peer reviews, and brainstorming sessions to create best solutions possible.
• May prepare files and print specifications for internal printers and outside vendors (e.g., GPO, exhibit fabricators), participates in press checks on high-visibility jobs as needed.
• Helps maintain storage systems/libraries for digital assets.
• Understands communication principles as well as ability to negotiate and conduct tactful interactions with Lab management, technical staff, customers, team members, and support staff.
• Consults with client to assess appropriate medium; creates product concepts; plans production; and produces video-, digital-, and film-based imagery and associated administrative components, including estimates and project management costs, schedules, and deliverables.
• Contributes articles to employee publications and other media, including the Laboratory Web site variously conceiving, writing, editing, securing approvals.
• Plans internal and external communications programs and campaigns.
• Contributes ideas and work products to help achieve Lab-wide communications plan.
• Plans and writes news releases.
• Develops responses to media inquiries and questions or requests from the general public.
• Speaks and writes on behalf of the Laboratory as required.
• Writes and contributes to position papers and white papers.
• Contributes to and draws from CGA database.
• Contributes to executive communications plans, products, and feedback mechanisms.
• Conceives and executes marketing communications products as required.
• Coordinates, as appropriate, with Government Affairs Office.
• Coordinates, as appropriate, with NNSA and other customers.
• Helps anticipate and manage public affairs and employee issues.
• Learns, uses, and teaches others to use CGA issue management tools.
• Participates in emergency and crisis communications preparedness and execution.
• Researches and applies best practices to his or her work.
• Understands and adheres to applicable Laboratory and regulatory guidance and governance.
• Ensures that all work processes and products meet established requirements.
• Fosters a mutually respectful work environment that is free from discrimination and harassment.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in communications, journalism, English, Business or a related field.
• At least five (5) years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education & experience.
• Experience working on Macintosh and/or PC platforms.
• Experience using cross-disciplinary skills such as graphic design, photography and video production, and website development to create communication products.
• Relevant communications experience in corporate, government, university, or journalistic settings.
• Basic knowledge of industry-relevant software (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Word, Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, etc.).
• Basic understanding of file structure and formatting; responsible for archiving and retrieving digital assets from libraries.
• In-depth knowledge of legal requirements affecting media production.
• In-depth experience planning and creating collaborative audio-visual productions.
• In-depth experience and demonstrated skill in conducting research, investigating alternative solutions, and recommending solutions to problems.
• Has up-to-date knowledge of various photographic and video formats and technologies.
• Is skilled in verbal and written communications and in negotiating with customers.
• Ability to translate technical concepts and material into compelling and persuasive communications products.
