Our Environmental Services practice area performs environmental consulting services for a variety of industries, including Utilities, Financial Services, Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, Mining, Petro-Chemical, Industrial, Commercial, Water & Wastewater Treatment, and Land Development. We are currently looking for a Procurement Engineer-Mechanical to join the ENERCON Team in various locations.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to perform and manage highly complex projects. Your Key Responsibilities will be to:
  • Develop Commercial Grade Dedication requirements to support procurement activities.
  • Review / Approve Commercial Grade Dedication plans from external sources / suppliers.
  • Develop / Review Equivalency Evaluations to determine suitable replacement parts and components to address obsolete items.
  • Perform Parts Interchangeability Evaluations for replacement material which is interchangeable with original plant equipment, with no change to form, fit or function.
  • Perform / Review technical evaluations and reviews of procurement documents.
  • Establishing and utilizing commercial grade dedications to support procurement activities.
  • Evaluate and disposition technical discrepancies identified during the procurement process, receipt inspection process, and inventory control process.
  • Interface with internal and external groups on procurement related activities, as needed (e.g., supplier audit or Commercial Grade Survey checklists, establishing the technical and quality requirements of an item to be procured, interpretation of codes or standards, etc.).

As a qualified candidate, you will have the above experience and meet the below requirements:
  • BS degree in Engineering or other scientific discipline generally associated with operating nuclear power plants.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience required in nuclear power design, construction, maintenance, operations or equivalent.
  • Experience in nuclear Procurement Engineering activities.
  • Direct ASME knowledge and experience.
  • Knowledge of nuclear plant technology, systems and components with the ability to work with all disciplines (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and controls), manufacturers and suppliers including contractors.
  • Good problem solving and change management skills. Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work for timely and accurate completion while exercising good judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
  • Clearly communicates technical information, concepts, and ideas verbally and in writing.
  • Technical mastery of engineering principles, in depth knowledge of procedures, programs, and standards in responsible areas.
  • Leadership: Technical lead on complex projects desired.
  • Business Expertise: Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.
  • Availability for call out, working off-normal hours, and travel to Client sites as needed.
  • Must be able to complete pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Prior attendance at the EPRI Nuclear Utility Procurement Engineering Training is a plus.
