With extensive experience in engineering design, nuclear safety, decommissioning and environmental services, we are actively supporting large and small projects throughout the DOE complex. EFS also has current experience supporting operations and decommissioning efforts at US Army Corps of Engineers and National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) facilities.

Enercon Federal Services has an opening for a Nuclear Criticality Safety professional in Oak Ridge, TN. This position entails performing nuclear criticality safety analyses and reviews of a variety of facilities/installations that deal with nuclear materials including, Department of Energy weapons material production facilities, nuclear facilities undergoing decommissioning, and ancillary facilities such as spent fuel pools.

The candidate will be responsible for providing technical capabilities in Nuclear Criticality Safety (NCS) to ensure fissile materials are processed, stored, transferred, and handled safely so that personnel and property are protected against a criticality accident. This work includes development and/or peer review of Nuclear Criticality Safety Evaluations for new DOE Category 2 Nuclear Facilities in accordance with DOE O 420.1C requirements. Work also includes performing Criticality Safety Analysis of equipment, processes, and procedures prescribing correct methods, control requirements, and limitations.

The candidate should also have experience in performing surveillance, inspections, walkthroughs, appraisals, or audits of fissile material operations to ensure compliance with Nuclear Criticality Safety Approvals, Nuclear Safety rules, including Safety Analysis Reports, Safety Assessments, Safety Reviews, and risk assessments/analyses. Additional experience should include providing operating areas with specific NCS professional interpretations and advice and providing training to employees in basic criticality safety.

Minimum Requirements:
• BS or MS in Nuclear Engineering.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Nuclear Criticality Safety.
• Specific experience in the use of nuclear analysis codes such as MCNP and KENO.
• Broad knowledge of industry and regulatory standards pertaining to the power industry and the Dept. of Energy a plus.
• Proficient in Word and Excel.
• Good writing, presentation and oral communication skills.
• Able to perform engineering tasks having a significant degree of complexity with minimal oversight.
• Experience working under an NQA-1 or Appendix B QA Program highly desirable.
• Some travel, to various client sites as well as to other ENERCON offices, required.
DOE "Q" clearance or ability to obtain a DOE "Q" clearance.
