Job Description
Position Overview:

As a Data Scientist at Siemens, you will define, develop and implement the next generation of analytics for the smart buildings market based on your industry experience and your contact with Siemens customers and prospects. You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality through tactical execution.. This data scientist role is key both strategically and tactically. You need to be able to see and sell the big picture while keeping track of all the details so your analytics are delivered on time and to spec.


• Develop and manage next generation analytics for smart buildings, including Fault Detection and Diagnostics (FDD), Preventative Maintenance analytics, Predictive Maintenance analytics, and System Optimization analytics
• Managing the entire analytics life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities
• Specifying market requirements for current and future analytics by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers.
• Driving a funnel and catalog of analytics and collaborating with a global team.
• Managing the process to collect analytic ideas from customers and internal field offices.
• Working at customer sites and local field offices to stand up analytics driven projects.
• Establish training plan and help develop curriculum for customers and internal stakeholders.
• Developing and implementing with a team the company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute.
• Analyzing potential partner relationships for the product.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

• Self-motivated individuals who are comfortable working in a team environment while showing leadership skills to help drive the direction of the team.
• Comfortable presenting complex technical topics to business and technical audiences live or via webinar.
• Strong mathematical background (linear algebra, calculus, and statistics).
• Understanding of the smart buildings, energy and automation industry.
• Understanding how to write requirements.
• Knowledge of cloud-based software applications and web technology.
• Must be able to travel to support field and customer needs - up to 25%.
• 10+ years of proven success in an Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Control Systems, Statistics, or Mathematics role plus proven expertise in the commercialization of solutions.
• Advanced engineering degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Control Systems, Statistics, or Mathematics desirable.
