Job Description
Position Overview:

This position can be based anywhere in the continental US, but the individual will need access to a major US airport.

This position will be focused on the data center market with individual supporting sales efforts as well as providing operational execution for the DC Clarity LC (DCIM) solution. In addition, the position will provide operational support for IT and integration related activities associated with data center solutions.

The position will require a significant amount of travel and may at times require the individual to remain at a single remote location for an extended period of time (2-3 months).

The Area Technical Specialist for Building Technologies provides \"expert\" technical support on company products and technical integration (i.e. gateways to 3rd party systems) to district operations.


• Delivers integrated solutions training and technical support for field technicians. Provides on-site technical troubleshooting for resolution of customer issues.
• Provides technical support to field technicians on company products.
• Diagnoses and resolves technical problems on jobs and provides appropriate reports to management.
• Works with other District Automation Specialists to develop and share technical solutions.
• Coordinates installations and/or upgrades of Apogee Hosts with Customers IT Department.
• Troubleshoots any network, software, hosted system malfunctions.
• Reviews new technical documentation and provides communications and training to field technicians.
• Mentors field technicians on company systems and service products.
• Provides technical sales assistance and support on new company products.
• Performs product demonstrations and communicates design strategies to district sales executives.
• Participates in advisory teams for new product releases, project slates, and technical training development.
• Maintains technical expertise on all new products, tools, and gateways through continuing education initiatives.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

• Associate's degree in Engineering, Technology, or other related technical field.
• 5-7 years experience with S600, HVAC applications, systems engineering, installation, start up and commissioning.
• Knowledgeable in Microsoft Windows NT Workstation/Server and Windows 2000 Professional/Service, APOGEE product and applications, APOGEE tools, gateways and integration to 3rd party systems.
• Individual must have strong IT and building automation (BAU) background.
• Completes all company APOGEE training courses including advanced classes.
• Completes a minimum of five APOGEE new installations or migrations, of which to two have included integration.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for conducting company product training courses to district field technicians.
