Our products are built on many disciplines including computer science, physics, information technology, hardware, algorithms and much more. You will write software for our PET/CT, SPECT/CT scanners and post-processing clinical applications as part of a global team. You will be part of the clinical workflow team which focuses on optimizing our customer experience from patient registration through to reporting, to create the smoothest possible workflow for the patient who is in the scanner, the technologist who operates the scanner, and the radiologist and nuclear medicine physicians who read the images and the referring physician.

Job Description
Title: Software Engineer, Staff

Position Overview:
We write software for our PET/CT, SPECT/CT scanners and post-processing clinical applications as part of a global team. Our products are built on many disciplines including computer science, physics, information technology, hardware, algorithms and much more.

This position is with the clinical workflow team and focuses on optimizing our customer experience from patient registration through to reporting.  

Job Responsibilities
• Working within the team to write, test, debug and peer review code that is shared between our scanner console and post-processing clinical applications
• Supporting the handoff and overall management of these shared components to project teams
• Creating and reviewing technical documentation
• Engaging in discussions and voicing your sound technical opinions to others
• Interfacing with internal partners including systems engineering, architects, product management and project management
• Interfacing with external business partners including those in Germany and India
• Mentoring junior software developers
• Keeping knowledge up to date by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques and computing equipment; participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations
• Minimal travel (training, conferences, etc.)

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
• A genuine passion for software development demonstrated through significant past projects
• Expert knowledge of a few programming languages including C#, C++
• Experience with the following technologies: WPF, WCF, WF
• Ability to solve problems quickly and completely
• Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a dynamic work environment
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Possess excellent communication skills
• Expert knowledge of computer logic and interpreting legacy source code
• Expert knowledge of computer program design methods and techniques
• Expert knowledge of maintaining and debugging live software systems   
• Ability to perform work of high difficulty in designing, writing, editing, modifying, testing and debugging complex computer programs
• Ability to learn new technologies that may impact our systems and integrate them in legacy systems
• 5+ years of software experience

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
• DICOM and Medical Imaging knowledge
• Experience working in a regulated environment FDA or other
• Experience in working with offshore teams
• Master's or Bachelor's Degree in computer science or some other related field
