Sr Staff Product Engineer, Computer Aided Modeling and Simulation)

This position is responsible for providing technical leadership in the area of product development with specific responsibilities for CAE analysis and leading the mechanical engineering effort for the design, development and realization of innovative, robust and reliable mechanical solutions for medical devices.

Senior Staff Product Engineer, with demonstrated ability to plan, direct, and conduct engineering research and development activities and develop and expand departmental CAE capabilities. Assignments relate to exploration and qualification of analytical software and conducting on-going analysis and simulation of current projects, including structural, fluidic, mechatronic and motion analysis simulations.

• Use DFMA principles to drive simplicity into the designs

• Provide leadership in planning, direction and oversight of engineering research and development activities and provide analysis and recommendations regarding concepts and designs for electro-mechanical and fluidic systems.

• Provide leadership in developing, maintaining and oversight of mechanical engineering plans to ensure project objectives and deliverables are predictably and consistently achieved.

• Work with CAE analysts at other sites and within the Siemens company to develop and expand simulation capabilities and coordinate simulation tasks between sites.

• Ensure compliance with project plan time lines and successful commercialization of the high quality, easily manufactured products, in order to meet both internal and customer requirements.

• Guides the review of very complex product designs to ensure they work as required and that designs and /or revisions avoid infringements of patents that are not controlled by the company.

• Develop library of materials properties.

• Develop and maintain detailed and comprehensive records of all inventive ideas, designs and improvements
