Job Description
As a Co-op in Simulation and Test Solutions the employee will get exposure to all phases of STS's Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Depending on the phase STS is at in our SDLC, tasks given to students can consist of:  gathering requirements and/or prototyping, coding implementation, development of automated testing of project code, and environment support.   A full cycle of STS's SDLC will typically be longer than one semester.  So, returning semesters will often have a different focus than the previous semester.  For example, one semester the student may work on implementing functionality fora project, while the next semester may focus on improving the quality of the software and prototyping ideas for the next release.

• Writes clean, robust and maintainable code to minimize the cost of defects over time.
• Works with the mentor to understand the needs and functionality of the area assigned to student.
• Follows the enumerated steps in the SDLC process including writing design documents and coding, so that the developed automation tools can be utilized in other/future projects.

Minimum Requirements:
• Studying for a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field.
• GPA of a 3.0 or higher
• U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
• Computer Science and Computer Engineering students:
Must have ability to program in C++ or Java
Must have demonstrated skills in design and programming
Must have familiarity with Object Orient concepts

• Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering students:
Must have demonstrated skills in design and programming (C++ or Java is preferred)
Must have experience using computer-aided design and/or engineering software

• Ability to continually improve and learn new areas
• Ability to work well in a team
• Ability to effectively communicate, especially the ability to articulate technical content
• Proactive
• Experience with C# or Python is a plus
• Familiarity with Excel Programming or Perl is a plus

Preferred Background:
• (C++ or Java is preferred)
