Mission

Represents Gamesa Services Business Unit and reports to the EHS & Training Senior Manager. Provides guidance to protect the safety of workers, and preservation of the environment

Main Functions

  • Position would include up to 50% travel
  • Travel to the wind farms would be necessary to provide EHS support, incident investigation, etc... to the field based on need
  • EHS related training to keep technicians up to date on EHS best practices
  • Develop, review, and monitor EHS written programs and work instructions with regards to hazard recognition and regulatory requirements
  • Support wind farm personnel in the management of EHS incidents; gather reports, assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Provide review of contractor EHS programs/policies/trainings towards qualification/re-qualification process
  • Provide training and support to BE Champions (site technicians with EHS responsibilities) at wind farms
  • Oversee wind farm EHS audits/inspections, manage non-conformities, and drive improvement
  • Support the Services Business Unit with respect to environmental and transportation related issues, e.g. waste management, spill response, hazardous material transportation, etc.
  • Oversee the collection of EHS metrics and Key Performance Indicators in regards to local regulatory recordkeeping requirements and corporate obligations
  • Develop training content, presentations, and videos (online and in person) based on the needs of the field in order to fit new procedures or equipment that is released from engineering and Corporate
  • Review H&S equipment, PPE and tools to determine applicability for use in the field as it pertains to maintenance, small and large corrective activities
  • Determine if procedures are adequate or need updating based on application in the field, work with appropriate parties for updating if necessary
  • Other tasks and duties as required by their manager


Qualifications

2-3 years of University Studies in Engineering - Technical Studies

Other Knowledge

  • Familiarity with field tools and equipment used during maintenance, small corrective and large corrective activities
  • Familiarity with heavy equipment, cranes, forklifts and other equipment used in field ops
  • Knowledge of OSHA 1910, NFPA 70E, OSHAS 18001, ISO 14001 standards
  • Knowledgeable in federal, state, and local environmental requirements
  • Communicate effectively, orally and in writing including presentations
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Standard office equipment
  • Familiarity with field tools and equipment used during maintenance, small corrective and large corrective activities
  • Familiarity with heavy equipment, cranes, forklifts and other equipment used in field ops
