Provides engineering support for wind farms for troubleshooting of down turbines, validation and implementation of design modifications, and root cause analysis of both electrical and mechanical issues. Will interface with both internal and external customers at wind farms. Provides reports and data on issues encountered on site while coordinating activities with service engineering located in Pennsylvania. May provide support during construction and commissioning of wind farms.

Main Functions

  • Perform problem solving in the field (data collection, analysis, troubleshooting, solution assessments, containment, etc)
  • Interact with site personnel to help diagnose and rectify issues
  • Perform initial validation and verification of engineering design modifications on site
  • Analysis of wind farms/wind turbines and the performance of their electrical systems and their control software / firmware.
  • Perform root cause analysis for both mechanical and electrical wind turbine systems
  • Responsible for conducting investigations based on given technical issues (documenting and proving the conclusions) using root cause analysis and continuous improvement techniques (RCA, Six Sigma, 8D, etc.).
  • Coordination with cross-functional teams on technical issues or engineering projects and products.
  • Inspect completed installations and observe maintenance operations to ensure conformance to specifications and regulations.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned


4-5 years of University Studies in Engineering - Technical Studies

Other Knowledge

  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Conversational in Spanish is a plus
  • Experience working with sensors (from simple to complex measuring instruments), PLC hardware, and data acquisition and monitoring tools
  • Travels up to 50%
