Mission

Investigates and diagnoses network problems, collects IT usage statistics, makes recommendations for improving the company's IT systems and carries out routine configuration and installation of IT solutions. Leads projects for network improvements aligned with North America organization needs and ensures compliance with Gamesa's global standards. Supports user support activities. This position works closely with the Infrastructure and Production teams in the Corporate (Global) IT Department. Requires strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Main Functions

  • Assist Corporate IT Production team in configuring and defining parameters for installation or testing of North America local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), hubs, routers, switches, controllers, multiplexers, or related networking equipment in accordance with Corporate standards
  • Evaluate local area network (LAN) or wide area network (WAN) performance data to ensure sufficient network availability/speed, to identify network problems, or for disaster recovery. Coordinate with Corporate IT Production team and service providers to implement problem resolution
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and infrastructure problems, and replace defective components when necessary
  • Responsible for installation, configuration and maintenance of servers
  • Install, configure and maintain wireless networking equipment, firewall software and local area networks
  • Install new hardware or software systems or components, ensuring integration with existing infrastructure
  • Configure group or individual security settings or access permissions to control access to files or documents stored on network servers
  • Define and enforce data backup policies and disaster recovery operations
  • Monitor disk space availability, or server function
  • Document infrastructure support procedures and activities
  • Monitor network performance to determine current or future need for adjustments or changes
  • Understand and monitor infrastructure warranty terms and expedite warranty renewals when required
  • Lead network improvement and infrastructure update projects for Gamesa's North America operations
  • Responsible for infrastructure sourcing and Vendor relations
  • Assist with User Support activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications

4-5 years of University Studies in IT, Telecommunications and Computers

  • Ability to communicate orally and written in a professional manner
  • Prior experience supporting, implementing and/or administering networks and infrastructure
  • Works well both alone as well as in a global team setting
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Standard office equipment, MS Windows Administrator tools (i.e. AD administrator, DHCP administrator, DNS administrator), Incident/Request Management tools (i.e. Remedy), Remote Control tools (i.e. Techinline, VNC), Firewall/Switches/ Network software management
  • MS Office Suite - intermediate to advanced
