We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Radiation Tech in our Waltz Mill, PA facility supporting the operating plant business.

This individual's general job function is to ensure the radiological protection program is fully implemented and full compliance with all applicable regulations while working under the general supervision of the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO).

In addition to that, a Sr. Radiation Tech can expect to be responsible for the following:
  • Perform routine and non-routine radiological protection and waste assignments using standard procedures or detailed instruction
  • Implement Radiation Work Permit (RWP) controls and radiation safety job coverage functions as required by the license and procedures with minimal supervision. 
  • Minimize and properly dispose of hazardous waste as per standard operating procedures.
  • Assist the Radiological Safety
  • Engineer or designee with routine training assignments
  • Collect environmental samples/data and submit for analysis. 
  • Collect bioassay samples/data and submit for analysis. 
  • Perform standard computer functions required to support Radiation Protection activities.
  • Calibrate survey instruments utilized for radioactive material license support activities.
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements
The successful candidate for this position will possess the following:
  • Minimum of a High School Degree or GED credential
  • National Registry of radiation Protection Professionals (NRRPT) certification a plus National Registry of radiation Protection Professionals (NRRPT) certification a plus
  • Shall meet the minimum requirements of ANSI 3.1 1978 or shall have at least (5+) years' equivalent radiological safety or related subject matter experience.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of the use and limitations of radiological instrumentation.
  • Must be able to pass background screening and be determined Trustworthy and Reliable as required by 10 CFR Part 37
  • Able to lift 50 pounds
  • Must be willing and able to work on shifts and overtime as required.
  • Must be able to work in radiological areas and demonstrate ability to access all locations including unimproved locations and those requiring respiratory protection.
  • Must be medically qualified to wear respiratory protection equipment
  • Ability to perform the essential duties of the position including the use of Microsoft Office software.
