We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Materials Engineer.  In this position, a Principal Engineer can expect to be responsible for the following:

-Responsibilities will include applying knowledge of metallurgy to support the development of materials fuel nuclear fuel applications, translating engineering requirements into manufacturing instructions, development and execution of test plans and preparation of engineering analyses and calculations
- Lead or support development of advanced materials and manufacturing processes for commercial nuclear reactor fuel to enhance safety and fuel cycle economics.
- Lead or support material testing programs in a test lab environment, and/or work with external testing laboratories related to development of Accident Tolerant Fuels.
- Perform development and benchmarking of predictive models for irradiation behavior of reactor materials.
- Interface with customers, national labs and universities for collaborative development programs to develop advanced materials.
- Participate or lead large multi-discipline groups or teams to accomplish desired business objectives.
-This person may also be required to develop and deliver presentations to communicate status, problem resolution or promote related business products

Job Requirements
The successful candidate for this position will possess the following:
* Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science Engineering or related engineering discipline required; Advance Degree preferred
* Minimum 5 years of applicable experience required; 8 plus years preferred
* Experience with zirconium metallurgy including fabrication and processing preferred.
*  knowledge of the effects of corrosion and irradiation and corrosion on zirconium based materials.
* Expected responsibilities will include applying knowledge of metallurgy to support the development of materials fuel nuclear fuel applications, translating engineering requirements into manufacturing instructions, development and execution of test plans and preparation of engineering analyses and calculations.
