We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Operator at our Ogden Facility.

In this position, an Operator can expect to be responsible for the following:

The following job duties are general level indicators and the duties performed will depend upon the assigned production area. The incumbent assigned to the classification may perform one or all of the job duties listed below:

1. Receive oral and/or written instructions from supervisor. Must read, understand, and work from travelres, departmental program and policy manuals, operating procuedures and material control documentation as required. May receiive special instructions on specific work assignments.

2. Assist in setting up arc melting furnaces by loading and aligning electrodes and assembling crucibles in furnces.  Operate vacuum pumping equipment and backfill furnaces with inert gas.  Relieve Melting Operator for short periods, continuing the melting operation to maintain continuity and productivity.

3. Set up and operate flammable and inert atmosphere systems and vacuum systems. Select appropriate tooling and operate equipment.

4. Set up and operate presses, blenders, lathes, mills, electron beam welders, arc furnaces to produce product to final specification rquirements.
5. Make visual, dimensional and/or geometric measurement inspection of product processed to determine if it meets prescribed requirements. Make indicated adjustments to operating parameters within prescribed limits and perform any allowable rework to maintain quality and productivity standards.

6. Troubleshoot equipment failures and malfunctions. Perform routine operational maintenance.

7. Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and overhead cranes to move and stage material, product and equipment as required.

8. Identify and mark materials properly and maintain clean, legible and accurate records. May involve such activities as weighing material, taking piece counts or making temperature, pressure, linear and liquid measurements, and often requires performing mathematical calculations (adding subtracting, multiplying and dividing.)

9. Work in accordance with all company safety and health hygiene regulations.

10. Perform routine cleaning and housekeeping in and around buildings and maintain an orderly work area at all times.

11. Notify supervisor of conditions affecting productivity, quality and safety which may require attention.

12. Abide by all rules and regulations covered by the Westinghouse Code of Business Ethics.

Job Requirements
The successful candidate for this position will possess the following:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Forklift certification preferred.
