*Responsible to assure Logistics Operations organizational performance is maintained at a high level.
  • The Westinghouse Nuclear Safety Culture is understood and embraced
  • Department personnel maintain appropriate training to Westinghouse, Industry and Governmental requirements for their specific responsibilities
  • Performance Improvement tools such as HuP, CAPAL, Operating Experience are utilized effectively
  • Staff work assignments are regularly reviewed to assure clarity of expectations and proper workload distribution
  • Performance metrics are established, maintained and reviewed
*Responsible for compliance with internal procedures and industry / government regulations including:
  • Adherence to specific modal transportation regulations and guidelines (including but not limited to: IATA, OSHA, DOT, IMO, etc.)
    • Handling and Transport of Hazardous Materials / Dangerous Goods
    • Handling and Transport of Over-dimensional / Over-weight cargo
  • Adherence to commercial / trade regulations governing import and export
  • Adherence to the applicable Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Adherence to the local business unit or site specific policies and procedures
  • Development and implementation of policies and procedures as needed
*Responsible to assure processes to manage Logistics Operations and the interfaces with other functions are well defined and continually improved.
  • Develop and maintain process maps for Logistics Operations department
  • Research and implement industry best practices
  • Establish and maintain internal and external customer relationships based on formal and informal interactions
  • Utilize project management programs to effectively manage projects and initiatives
  • Continually identify Costs associated with Poor Quality (COPQ) for development and implementation of improvement plans
  • Identify and utilize technologies to standardize processes and procedures
*Manage the overall financial performance for Logistics Operations within the department
  • Create and maintain project related budgets / estimates
  • Track and report variances against cost forecasts
  • Assure proper assignment of costs to assigned budgets
  • Assure timeliness of transportation related transactions
  • Identify and implement cost improvement plans

Job Requirements
  • Demonstrate the experience in working across multiple functions without direct reports.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively in an ambiguous reporting environment.
  • Multi lingual, with German preferred.
  • Leads, supports and contributes to Business Unit and Site specific performance and initiatives
  • Represent the interests of the Global Logistics organization to GNSC staff located in EMEA
  • Ability to collaborate with local GNSC managers and other GNTL managers in UK and Sweden
  • Demonstrates leadership qualities and the ability to communicate verbally and in written form clearly to senior Westinghouse staff
  • Manage Transportation related assets
  • Packaging oversight
  • Assure that safe lifting and rigging procedures are adhered to
  • Assist in Business development
  • Trade Compliance experience managing international shipments, including classification and application of INCO terms.
