This position is for a Senior Procurement Buyer located at a module fabrication facility in Newport News, VA.   Candidate's primary function will be to perform Purchase Order oversight and management of a Time and Material fabrication Purchase Order for large Shield Building Panels.  This position will perform these activities in support of two concurrently executing Nuclear Power Plant Projects.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
  • Maintain daily oversight of shop performance to ensure fabricator is performing activities in accordance with commercial requirements of Purchase Order.
  • Status and review daily, weekly and monthly reports
  • Review and audit Time and Material invoices in coordination with Purchase Order rates and fabricator time records.
  • Verify and confirm material receipts and costs.
  • Participate in daily fabricator schedule status meetings.
  • Prompt report of shop issues to Procurement Manager.
  • Assist in the development of schedule recovery plans.
  • Monitor fabricator actual cash flow versus planned

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Supply Chain or Engineering required.
  • Minimum of 5+ years experience required. Typically has 7 to 10+ years' experience in both Field and Engineered Equipment Buying.
  • Experience in working on large infrastructure Projects
  • Experience in the steel plate fabrication industry
