We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Project Manager (APM) in the United States within the Nuclear Fuel and Components Manufacturing Product Line.  In this position, an APM can expect to be responsible for the following:
Responsible for all project management processes on moderate complexity projects, a portfolio of lower complexity projects or a portion (for example, work package) of a high complexity project/program. Lead medium-sized team (average 1030 team members), which may include project controls and sub-project managers. Support proposal process for moderate complexity projects, as assigned. May be assigned overall Project Manager responsibility of a high complexity project in a deputy capacity (with direct guidance of a Program Manager or higher).
  • Oversee the development of cost estimates and offers for operating plants support and modifications. Support and/or drive customer negotiations.
  • Complete all aspects of planning process including authoring project management plans and developing scope, schedule, and cost baselines as well as, risk and stakeholder registers per the Westinghouse Global Project Excellence Procedure (GPEP).
  • Project Managers will interface with customers, develop proposals, plan projects in a team environment in accordance with the Global Project Excellence framework.  Activities include equipment preparation, development, resource planning, personnel training, field deployment and implementation utilizing the highest standards in safety, quality, delivery, risk mitigation and cost management.
  • Based on project management plan, follow department protocols for acquiring team members as needed to complete the work. Manage and integrate all aspects of project including scope, schedule, cost, risk, procurement, quality, resources, communications, and stakeholders. Interpret and transmit project/contract requirements, and subsequent changes, to functional groups following an integrated change management process.
  • Coordinate project communications ensuring team, customer, and all stakeholders are kept informed of status. Develop or oversee project records in standard databases, systems, and procedures to ensure efficient handling and transmission of project correspondence and documentation internally and externally.
  • Properly close project by archiving work in financial, scheduling, document management, and resource management systems/tools. Perform final project quality assessment and report out. Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement, lessons, and risk avoidance for future work.
  • Use interpersonal skills to cultivate positive relationships with team, customer, and other stakeholders (e.g., internal management) in a matrix environment to facilitate successful project completion as well as identify opportunities for additional business growth.
  • Identify, assess, and implement improvement or recovery opportunities that will promote successful project delivery.

Job Requirements
The  successful candidate for this position will possess the following:
  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business, Construction Management, or related technical discipline required. 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with at least 3 years as project manager leading and directing low to moderate complexity projects to successful completion (3 years in technical/engineering role and 2 years as project manager may be considered as equivalent); 3 or more years of experience as project manager in a technical industry such as engineering, manufacturing, nuclear or construction is preferred.
  • Familiar with the Project Management Institute (PMI®)'s Project Management Body of Knowledge required. PMI Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification or other approved equivalent project management certification is required.
  • Westinghouse Project Manager qualification completed. For external candidate, will complete project manager qualification within designated time period. Exemptions provided based on prior training and work experience.  
  • Strong interpersonal skills, such as effective verbal and written communications; ability to lead team members; ability to develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders; and ability to make decisions and carry out multiple tasks as assigned, with minimal guidance from supervisory Project Managers and mentors.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft® Office tools. Knowledge and skill of project scheduling and cost management.
  • Demonstrated ability or understanding of the transformation of data to information for visual reports; database concepts in order to manage data within systems; the interaction of company functions that are touch points to projects (Finance, Legal, Quality, Supply Chain, etc.). High-quality presentation skills.
  • Experience with SAP, Primavera (P6), Microsoft Project, Microsoft SharePoint, and Active Risk Manager Software tools is a plus.
