The Global Project Excellence (GPEx) organization is responsible for the development and implementation of project management standards across Westinghouse. GPEx provides governance and oversight globally across Westinghouse for standard project management procedures, development programs and project performance monitoring. GPEx is looking for an energetic, creative Program Manager to lead the implementation of the learning, qualification and career paths for all Project Management related roles.
The GPEx Program Manager, GPEx Development successful candidate will be responsible for the governance and oversight of all development-related activities.  Responsibilities include:
  • Direct the development and implementation of the Project Manager and Project Controls Development Programs including qualification and career advancement.
  • Lead the matrixed Product Line and HR team to define and implement qualification and career requirements for PM, PC and Cost Estimator roles governing approximately 1000 employees and contractors performing these roles.
  • Coordinate career progression policies with HR; provide oversight to ensure appropriate use of titles
  • Lead the team in implementing development programs or other roles such as Cost Estimator and Project Support.
  • Apply creative solutions to program curricula including classroom, forums, workshops, social media, and other methods for effective learning that raises the bar in project delivery performance.
  • Develop a yearly continuous learning plan in the areas of Professional, Leadership, Westinghouse-Specific and Project Type-Specific Curricula based on lessons learned, corrective actions, etc. from project experiences for primary project roles.
  • Develop curricula for interfacing roles such as manager of project management resources, technical teams, general management, contractors, etc.
  • Interface with GPEx Project Coordinator to administer program and maintain a high level of program participant satisfaction
  • Interface with other Westinghouse organizations who have project related training content such as Requirements Management, Sustainability, Contracts/Claims, Quality, etc.  to review/edit material for alignment to Global Project Excellence Procedures; integrate into curricula and plan delivery logistics
  • Negotiate course delivery terms with external training providers
  • Develop and communicate program progress and effectiveness metrics
  • Interface with GPEx Process Manager to ensure training is aligned with procedural requirements

Job Requirements
The successful candidate for this position will possess the following:
  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business, Construction Management, or related technical discipline required.
  • Advanced degree in Project Management, Engineering, Construction or Business preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience as project manager leading and directing moderate  to high complexity projects to successful completion (5 years in technical/engineering role and 5 years as project manager may be considered as equivalent).
  • Demonstrated successful project management skills in effectively executing significantly complex projects/programs, including complex contract negotiations.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and training Project Managers.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing creative, high-impact PM training programs.
  • Strong communication skills and a proven history of managing and leading teams effectively and interfacing with multiple functional groups.
  • Experience with developing/implementing new business opportunities.
  • Mastery of the Project Management Institute (PMI®)'s Project Management Body of Knowledge required. PMI Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification or other approved equivalent project management certification is required.
  • Westinghouse Project Manager qualification completed. For external candidate, will complete project manager qualification within designated time period. Exemptions provided based on prior training and work experience.
