The Material Resource Leader will manage the flow of direct material through a manufacturing cell or area. In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.

Essential Responsibilities

Provide functional material responsibility for assembly and/or machining processes as required
• Responsible for inventory management for assigned parts and processes required to ensure material input to support customer requirements while financial inventory objectives are accomplished
• Coordinate planning and scheduling activities for assigned commodity utilizing advanced planning tools to model, simulate, and release optimized material plans to the organization
• Identify all critical hardware shortages, monitor the implementation of corrective actions plans, control inventory levels of hardware, and coordinate the disposition of obsolete, non-conforming, and excess hardware
• Apply appropriate optimization methodologies to balance service level, inventory, and resource utilization using advanced planning tools
• Monitor performance to the plan and take pro-active action to solve problems and mitigate risk in meeting the plan
• Maintain manufacturing Bill of Material (BOM) accuracy for parts within an assigned commodity.
• Assure timely release of hardware requirements and drive material substitution requests as required.
• Analyze data and collaborate in the determination and the subsequent application of appropriate order, inventory, and replenishment policies
• Utilize modeling data and obtain collaborative feedback to perform optimization simulations and recovery scheduling
• Interface with Demand Management, Shop Scheduling, Lifecycle COE, configuration control, Power Purchasing, and other GE organizations as required


• Bachelor's Degree from and accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in a manufacturing management or planning position)
• At least 3 additional years of experience in Manufacturing, Materials, Inventory Management and Warehouse Modules, Materials, or Production Planning and Control

Desired Characteristics

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Technical, Business, Supply Chain or related fields
• Prior experience working with modern ERP: SAP platform preferred
• Analytical and system proficiency skills
• Ability to effectively operate in any organizational structure
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Ability to effectively interface with all levels of management
