The Senior Engineer - Asset Life Optimization will lead projects to achieve productivity targets through life and interval extensions, execute configuration management goals for the business, as well as establish New Product Introduction Service Roadmaps through validation review of engine test data.

Essential Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the quarterly PS Catalog release schedule and will work closely with Design COEs, Repair COE along with PGS Risk, and Product Services to achieve productivity goals. In addition, you will work closely with sourcing, product management and engineering teams to execute strategies on configuration management.

In addition you will:
  • Understand and assess risks associated with interval extensions and life of HGP and/or combustion hardware
  • Interact with cross-functional teams at multiple levels in the execution of productivity programs, to include but not limited to: Product Service, Product Lines, MYA Risk, Design COE, Reliability Engineering, Outage Planning, Customer Support Engineering, Application Engineering, Parts, Sourcing and RTCOE
  • Assess unit health through evaluation of unit operational data, data analytics, historical outage reports, fleet issues, field test data, and both fleet and unit specific part's distress modes/events history
  • Be responsible for timely execution of productivity programs in support of Power Services initiatives
  • Lead, investigate, quantify and develop opportunities for optimizing gas turbine asset utilization
  • Generate interval outage scope recommendations aligned to productivity cost and cycle targets, reliability and performance goals, and Customer value
  • Integrate LEAN Six Sigma, Simplification, Fast Works and other quality tools into day-to-day activities


  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Materials Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 8 additional years of experience in an engineering capacity with turbomachinery

  • Technical background in the design of gas turbine hot gas path or combustion hardware
  • Effective interpersonal, Communication skills, oral and written
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix global organization
  • Ability to rapidly change directions on multiple concurrent projects based on emergent business priorities
  • Good Understanding of Engineering Principles and familiarity with Manufacturing Processes
  • Green Belt Certified (GE employees only)
  • Master's Degree
