Job Overview:

The Project Director manages large complex EPC projects that may have multiple project manager and normally executed within a JV. Typically, the Project Director is involved from inception to project completion. Projects will usually have a total installed cost exceeding $3 Billion USD and may be planned for remote and difficult locations.

The Project Director is CB&I's principal representative who is responsible for all matters pertaining to the project and project execution in accordance with the contract and the project's HSE, quality, schedule and financial goals. The Project Director is accountable to CB&I and the JV Management and the client for JV team performance. The Project Director has the authority to direct the Project Team within the bounds of CB&I Policy and has access to Senior Management for resolution of project issues and conflicts.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
  • Understand contract requirements and communicate to the Project Team
  • Comply with CB&I's business & Legal policies
  • Ensure project team is staffed with qualified people
  • Protect CB&I from any unnecessary risks
  • Manages local content and government relations as necessary
  • Provide the Project Management Leadership during the Pre-contract Phase
  • Understand the As-Sold Scope of Work & Estimate
  • Obtain, coordinate and manage the resources and tools required to execute the project
  • Hold contract summary meeting with project team
  • Chair the project kick-off meeting
  • Communicate project objectives to Project Team
  • Provide leadership and motivation to team
  • Maintain team alignment and monitor team performance
  • Promote team concept
  • Understand contracts/purchase orders
  • Hold regular project review meetings
  • Serve as focal point for all client communication
  • Cultivate good client relationships
  • Develop the project execution plan
  • Establish project procedures
  • Responsible for HSE, quality, schedule and financial performance
  • Ensure Project Control Systems are established for: Schedule, Progress Measurement and Earned Value System, Cost Report and Change Management.
  • Champion the project forecasting process
  • Prepare internal & external project reports
  • Execute & manage CB&I Lessons Learned program at the project level
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree Required
  • Minimum 20 years relevant experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work within a Joint Venture
