Job Overview:

CB&I is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager to support Focus on Energy in Madison, WI. The position will oversee key management aspects of Focus on Energy programs within the Business portfolio and governs Program Implementers to contractual obligations. The Senior Project Manager directs the program operations to meet program-specific energy savings, customer satisfaction and market transformation goals. Executes work in accordance with established policies, procedures, systems, and contractual requirements. Develops or refines these elements where they do not exist or may be improved. Engages in a variety of day-to-day interactions involving contractors, external stakeholders, trade allies, utilities, the client, and key internal functional areas within CB&I.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
  • Manage Program Implementer contract compliance, performance and dispute resolution.
  • Serve as the primary interface between Business Program Implementers and the Program Administrator, overseeing program implementation, including strategies to achieve project goals and mitigate risk
  • Track programs progress in comparison to forecasts, budgets, targets and goals
  • Compile, review and provide program status reports to functional areas as required
  • Report Program Implementer progress toward energy savings goals, customer satisfaction goal and contractually obligated key performance indicators to functional areas
  • Oversight, tracking and decision-making specific to day-to-day program-level opportunities, concerns and issues including conflict resolution
  • Maintain program data integrity, identification of continuous improvements and positive change
  • Plan, organize, coordinate and control program contract deliverables in accordance with established policies, procedures, systems and contractual requirements
  • Review and approve contract deliverables, program documents, program strategies and initiatives, marketing collateral, program reports and other materials or activities related to the program
  • Apply technical expertise to improve program effectiveness. Engage in ongoing efforts to benchmark program performance, assess new opportunities, and drive a continuous improvement mindset with Program Implementers
  • Ensure QA/QC in customer project, incentive and invoice approvals
  • Schedule and facilitate Program Implementer and external stakeholder meetings
  • Represent CB&I at strategic or complex meetings in an effective manner
  • Effectively direct and coordinate activities of key support staff to ensure successful outcomes on program research and analysis
  • Perform research on external programs or issues to place Focus on Energy in broader industry context
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors and/or Master's Degree in Energy Engineering, Math/Finance, Planning/Sustainability, Environment, Public Policy or similar analytical discipline
  • 5-7+ years of experience required, working within program management aspects of energy efficiency programs
  • Ability to self-direct and manage responsibilities including executive decision-making, operating with autonomy and supporting Business Portfolio Manager accordingly
  • Strong service orientation with the ability to effective communicate with and work across multiple departments and units within an organization, external clients and multiple stakeholders
  • Proven ability to forge relationships with industry leaders and high-level client/customer contacts to assist with implementation of effective program administration and delivery to the marketplace
  • Detail-oriented with excellent time management, project management, and follow-through; creative problem solver with strong analytical abilities
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in the use of software tools used to combine and analyze data from various sources, and generate reports and graphics
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data and solve practical problems
  • Adaptable to the use of proprietary software tools to be used in combining large volumes of data for consolidated reporting
  • Exceptional relationship management skills

  • Experience in working with any of the following stakeholders is seen as beneficial: trade allies, utilities, retailers, program implementers, manufacturers or distributors of commercial and industrial energy-efficient equipment or services
Other Details:
  • Ability to travel within the state of Wisconsin (typically day travel)
  • Travel outside of Wisconsin sporadically for conferences, events, and continuing education.

Since 2001, the program has worked with eligible Wisconsin residents and businesses to install cost-effective energy efficiency and renewable energy projects.
