Job Overview:

CB&I have temporary openings for Staff Analysts to lead field operations and general oversight for our emergency response team.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
  • Directs preparation of work plans, supervises project teams, and manages projects budgets and/or schedules.
  • Supervises the daily activities of business support, technical or production staff in an assigned area
  • Resolves standard and non-standard problems
  • Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion; coordinates work activities with other supervisors and ensures conformance to applicable technical standards as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Implements projects under direction of senior staff; analysing and interpreting data; identifying need for modifications to work plans based on available data; supervising other technical personnel during on-site assessment or remediation activities.
  • Under the supervision of more senior personnel, carries out assignments associated with project.
  • Applies training within professional discipline to assigned projects and translates technical guidance and training received into usable products and reports.
  • Collects and evaluates data, conducts field work, and prepares, or provides input for, reports.
  • Ensures conformance to applicable technical standards as well as company policies and procedures.
Basic Qualifications:
  • B.A. /B.S. degree or equivalent with 2 to 8 years of experience in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry or any science related field.
  • Basic understanding of physical and biological science
  • Must have good oral and written communications skills
  • Interprets customer needs, assesses requirements and identifies solutions to non-standard requests.
  • Applies knowledge and skills to a wide range of standard and nonstandard situations.
  • Uses best practices and knowledge of internal/external business issues to improve products or services in own discipline.
  • Solves moderately complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions.
  • Manages own time to meet agreed targets; develops plans for short-term work activities in own area.
  • Explains difficult issues and works to establish consensus.
  • Will perform work in adverse weather conditions on the field (Work in hot/cold environments, inclement weather)
  • Ability to mobilize and deploy to a client work location within 24-48 hours' notice.
  • Ability to work 7 days per week with a day off every 14 days.
  • Candidates must successfully pass a background check, drug screen, company physical, and motor vehicle check.
  • OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER Certification required with an 8-hour refresher.
  • Current physical indicating fit to wear an air purifying respirator
  • Must be willing to obtain a flu shot.
Desired/Preferred Qualifications:
  • M.S. degree or equivalent with 2 to 6 years of experience in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry or any science related field.
  • Experience in contractor/field oversight and management
  • Prior experience in performing environmental field work (sample collection, equipment calibration, soil borings, remediation, etc.).
