Job Overview:

CB&I have temporary openings for Response Leads to oversee field operations and general activities for our emergency response team. The Response Lead will be responsible for overseeing health and safety, construction activities and junior personnel assigned in their sector of operations.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
  • Implements the health and safety program with input from the Health and Safety Manager.
  • Supervises the daily activities of on-site contractors, and technical or production staff in an assigned area
  • Resolves standard and non-standard problems
  • Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion; coordinates work activities with other supervisors
  • Development of plans, specifications, analyses, evaluations, maps, position papers, procedures and reports.
  • Communication of technical concepts, evaluation results, plans, reports, etc. via oral presentations; and ensures conformance to applicable technical standards as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Implements projects under direction of senior staff; analysing and interpreting data; identifying need for modifications to work plans based on available data; supervising other technical personnel during on-site assessment or remediation activities.
Basic Qualifications:
  • B.A. /B.S. degree with 8 to 14 years' experience in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry or any science related field.
  • Technical experience in waste clean-up activities or other discipline directly related to the requirements of this contract.
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience managing environmental projects and personnel and may be subject to professional registration requirements.
  • Must have Good oral and written communications skills
  • Interprets customer needs, assesses requirements and identifies solutions to non-standard requests.
  • Applies knowledge and skills to a wide range of standard and nonstandard situations.
  • Uses best practices and knowledge of internal/external business issues to improve products or services in own discipline.
  • Solves moderately complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions.
  • Manages own time to meet agreed targets; develops plans for short-term work activities in own area.
  • Explains difficult issues and works to establish consensus.
  • Will perform work in adverse weather conditions in the field (Work in cold environments, inclement weather)
  • Ability to mobilize and deploy to a client work location within 24-48 hours' notice.
  • Ability to work 7 days per week with a day off every 14 days.
  • Candidates must successfully pass a background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle check.
  • OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER Certification required with an 8-hour refresher.
  • Current physical with clearance to perform work in Air Purifying Respirator is desired.
Desired/Preferred Qualifications:
  • M.S. degree or equivalent, with 6 to 12 years' experience
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent with 8 to 14 years' experience
