Job Overview:

CB&I currently has an opening for a Project Engineer. The work will generally take place in the Air Quality field, with a primary focus on emissions and ambient air quality monitoring. Duties will include mid-level project engineering tasks, operation and maintenance of monitoring equipment, data management, report preparation, scheduling, and related management tasks as directed by the program manager. Anticipated project work will initially come from commercial clients located in the New England region. Additional duties will include developing relationships with potentials clients and developing business opportunities for the business line. The position will include approximately 70% field work and 30% office work. Travel with overnight stays may be required for some projects and assignments.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
  • Operation and maintenance of air quality monitoring equipment
  • Remain current on all applicable air quality regulations
  • Maintain detailed records and log books.
  • Management of spare parts inventories
  • Solid communication skills (e.g. notes as above, remote email, daily phone conversation with management)s
  • Assisting in report preparations
  • Technical Specification Reviews
  • General Civil and Environmental Engineering Design
  • Development of new business opportunities with existing and new clients.
  • Preparation of Cost Estimates
Basic Qualifications:
  • BA or BS degree (Environmental/Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology or other similar field)
  • 10 - 15 years of relevant experience needed
  • Direct experience deploying, operating, maintaining, and certifying continuous emissions monitoring systems (CEMS) and other monitoring equipment
  • Strong knowledge of local, State, and Federal regulations related to air quality
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer skills (i.e Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook)
  • Valid driver's license.

  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Ability to build rapport with subcontractors, clients and representatives
  • Understanding budget/schedule expectations and scope of assignments
