Job Overview:

The Community Relations Manager will be responsible for planning and implementing community relations programs for CB&I. This includes representing CB&I in the community, building relationships with community organizations on behalf of CB&I, highlighting the success of our community programs, and coordinating and executing community and internal employee events.

The position will report to the Senior Vice President, Global Communications and Brand Management, and will be part of the team responsible for CB&I's brand and communications. The successful candidate will be versatile and possess a blend of internal and external communications and community relations experience.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

The Community Relations Manager's primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Manage CB&I's charitable giving program and budget
    • Track monthly charitable donations

    • Request and process check requests and maintain records for all donations

    • Manage charitable event attendance to ensure CB&I is represented properly

  • Plan, coordinate and execute CB&I's annual United Way campaign for The Woodlands office, which raises in excess of $1MM locally. Events include planning an annual golf tournament, sponsor requests, team organization and pledge site oversight and reporting

  • Coordinate United Way campaigns at key offices in the U.S.

  • Plan and manage CB&I's Day of Caring activities locally and track events globally

  • Manage and solicit participation for CB&I's volunteer programs

  • Represent CB&I in the local community at various events and community meetings

  • Develop, implement, coordinate and measure the effectiveness of the local Community Relations program and activities

  • Build and maintain relationships with key local community organizations and influencers

  • Serve as coordinator for local and global Women's Leadership Network program
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • minimum 5 years of related experience
  • Excellent written and oral communications and presentation skills
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple events and assignments
  • Proven ability to plan and execute events
  • Experience should include writing, public speaking, event organization and budget management
  • The position requires occasional night and weekend participation in events
