Job Overview:

CB&I's Jacksonville, FL office is currently looking for a Civil Engineer with an environmental background. They will perform a variety of civil and environmental engineering work in the initial planning and design phases of projects. May also support procurement and construction phases or projects with engineering knowledge and experience. Performs other duties as required.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
  • Work activities include compiling data for project reports, collecting and compiling field data, assisting in proposal efforts, documenting technical data for management review, providing other entry level duties as assigned, assisting with preparation of labor/material estimates and design packages for clients
  • Other duties include collection and interpretation of engineering data, development of project design basis, development of specifications, and performance of detailed engineering
  • Will often involve working on teams with Engineers, Geologists and Project Managers
Basic Qualifications:
  • Must have a BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering and 4-5 years' experience in the civil/environmental field
  • Prior experience in general civil and environmental design is required - earthwork, stormwater, drainage, utilities, contaminated site assessment, contaminated site remediation, permitting, and compliance (SPCC plans, SWPPP, NPDES permitting)
  • Applies knowledge and skills to complete own work overseen by a senior engineer
  • Organizes own work to meet deadlines set by others
  • Looking for candidates that are local to the Jacksonville, FL area or willing to relocate without assistance
  • Must possess excellent report documentation and writing skills.
  • Must be a Florida-licensed P.E. or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Must have 40-hour OSHA-HAZWOPER training (no exceptions).
  • Must have excellent technical and interpersonal skills.
  • Some overnight travel is required.
  • Must be able to work independently on hazardous waste sites and meet the 40-hour OSHA physical requirements (includes wearing PPE and a full-face respirator).
  • Some lifting and physical work will be required.
  • Some overtime and weekend work will be required to meet project deadlines.
