Job Overview:

CB&I currently has an opening for a Marketing and Communication Specialist for Focus on Energy located in Madison, WI. Under the direction of the Marketing and Communication Director, the Marketing and Communication Specialist is responsible for developing content, marketing materials, website and social media content, public communications, event coordination and other duties as assigned. Our office is situated in downtown Madison on the square with a great view of the capitol. As part of the marketing and customer service team, you will both directly and indirectly provide support related to achieving Focus on Energy goals for customer satisfaction and energy savings.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
  • Participate in the development of overall Focus on Energy marketing campaigns and pieces
  • Assist in the development of brand standards and marketing guidelines
  • Work closely with the Program Lead and Program Implementer marketing staff on assigned programs to ensure brand consistency and quality across marketing plans and campaigns
  • Review marketing materials for consistency and compliance with marketing guidelines in a timely manner and in accordance with program policies and procedures
  • Facilitate coordination on marketing and communication activities across programs
  • Distribute marketing materials as necessary to Program Implementers, utilities, trade allies and Program Administrator Staff
  • Coordinate events, sponsorships and memberships amongst Program Administrator, Program Implementers, participating utilities and interest groups
  • Develop content for electronic communications, schedule and coordinate the release of newsletters, e-mail blasts and other electronic communications
  • Actively participate in and coordinate marketing stakeholder groups including utilities and program implementers
  • Develop social media content and grow social media presence
  • Monitor and provide reporting on analytics for website, social media, press releases and other activities
  • Produce copy and design for umbrella marketing pieces and templates
  • Manage website content and ensure adequacy and relevancy of content through a Content Management System (CMS)
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 2-5 years of related experience
  • Exceptional relationship management skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with excellent time management, project management, and follow-through
  • Experience with social media and search engine optimization
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to analyse and interpret data and solve practical problems
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Strong creative ability
Desired/Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or Communications preferred
  • 2-5 years related work experience with energy efficiency, marketing and communication of programs, and social media preferred
  • Experience in working with any of the following stakeholders is seen as beneficial: mid- to large-sized commercial and industrial customers, trade allies, utilities, retailers, program implementers, manufacturers or distributors of energy-efficient equipment or services

Since 2001, the program has worked with eligible Wisconsin residents and businesses to install cost-effective energy efficiency and renewable energy projects.
