Job Overview:

CB&I is currently seeking an electrical commissioning technician to support the IP&L Eagle Valley project in Martinsville, IN.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develops/revises electrical system scoping documents.
  • Must be computer literate working with MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Works closely with client on site personnel and vendor service engineers engaged in pre-commissioning and troubleshooting activities.
  • May develop and execute "on-site" individual component electrical and performance test procedures.
  • Reviews engineering drawings and specifications to ensure adequate provisions have been made for testing and other pre-commissioning functions.
  • Develops electrical test procedures and reports.
  • Perform electrical checkout and energization of power systems.
  • Must have the ability to conduct systems walk downs and generate punch lists.
  • Conducts and directs electrical circuit/relay calibration and testing.
  • Supervises construction craft labor assigned him/her.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum of ten (10) years in the power industry, eight (8) of which should include electrical systems commissioning experience.
  • Requires a thorough understanding of industrial safety and AD/DC motors, low/medium/high voltage power systems, relay logic, computer operated control circuits, power distribution protective relaying as well power transformers and generators.
  • Experience in power plant electrical maintenance/supervision is a plus.
  • Experience with the following equipment preferred: Device Net, RS485 Communications, High Voltage (138 kv & 34.5 kv) circuit breaker and transformers, main & backup generators, DC batteries (lead acid), battery chargers, and UPS inverters.
