Job Overview:

CB&I is seeking an experienced Community Outreach Coordinator to staff a recovery and resiliency assessment projects. The Community Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for identifying and marketing to homeowners for assessments within the functional area, with limited supervision.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
  • Supports the creation marketing or outreach media, such as brochures or web sites, to communicate sustainability issues, procedures, or objectives to meet goals or standards
  • Organizes individual visits or attends group meetings to provide information on agency services, requirements and procedures
  • Develops marketing and outreach plans
  • Explains complex processes, policies, procedures, or laws of a government entity or private sector client to clientele and internal staff
  • Uses various applicable processes, policies, procedures, or laws to advise clientele.
  • Gathers required documentation from key stakeholders
  • Reviews required documentation from key stakeholders
  • Discusses the purpose of broad, complex policies, procedures, or laws in relation to a specific situation of a client
  • Formulates resolutions and keeps abreast of economic and legal issues involved in zoning codes, building codes, and environmental regulations
  • Discusses and supports program plans or objectives with internal and external clients.
  • Communicates in an understandable and succinct fashion
  • Actively seeks information to understand client circumstances, problems, expectations, and needs
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
  • Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision
  • A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required
  • Typically reports to a head of a unit/department and may assist in supervision of more junior staff
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Associates Degree in relative field OR directly related professional work experience may substitute for educational requirements
  • 5+ years direct experience in community outreach related to disaster recovery, resiliency, and/or sustainability programs
  • 5+ years direct experience in developing marketing and outreach plans for community-based recovery, sustainability, and/or resilience programs
  • Willingness to present at and participate in community meetings and events focused on resilience and sustainability
Desired/Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with CDBG (Community Development Block Grant) Programs
Other Details:
  • Familiarity with Boulder County resilience risks and vulnerabilities is desirable.
  • Familiarity with City of Boulder and Boulder County outreach mechanisms and marketing channels is desirable.
